It's Chourio's first rehab outing with Nashville...

And, Jim leads with his woe over a six game report? I am speechless.

(No I'm not - I'm just teasing 🤭).

Speaking of Complex League...it certainly appears as tho OF Kenny Fenelon's peripherals boost his overall season output. You love to see this type of data:

It appears the Mudcats are going with RHP Ethan Dorchies (2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 38 Low-A IP) in the continuation game (commencing in the bottom of the 1st, game tied 0-0) of today’s doubleheader at Salem. We’re in a first place tie with Fredericksburg with about 17 games remaining.

Man, it would be really nice if Gery Holguin showed he could actually hit Low-A pitching. I've quite enjoyed the defense at the hot corner. Nice to see LF Tyler Rodriguez back in the line up. He is deserving of PT given his recent output.

High-A Wisconsin shoots for a 3-1 series lead at Beloit behind RHP Ryan Birchard (4.16 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 in 88.2 IP). C Marco Dinges is struggling a bit since his injury return (3-for-23, 9 BB, 10 Ks; .154 BABIP).

Jackson Chourio (last played July 29) is BACK for rehab start #1 and newly-signed LHP Tucker Davidson (3.65 ERA in 123.1 IP in Korea this summer) gets the start for AAA Nashville, who can clinch a home series win over Louisville.

The first game of the AA Biloxi home doubleheader against Chattanooga is underway, with the same lineup as yesterday’s planned game. The Shuckers trail 2-0 in this week’s series, but can even it up tonight.

Welp - I guess the extra day of rest didn't help Mr. Wichrowski: 3 runs on 5 hits thru 2 innings. At least Matt Wood threw out a basestealer.

Two 2nd inning walks, a balk and an early replacement of Chattanooga's center fielder hasn't resulted in any runs for Biloxi yet (Vargas fly out, Perez fly out with Lara in scoring position).

I'm thinking Jeferson Quero might be back. Just hit 108 EV, 430ft HR off a 96mph FB at the top of the zone

An absolute piss missile.

Fitting Chourio's first rehab AB was a K. It certainly wasn't going to be a walk.🤭

Well he also got a BB in the 1st inning as well

Wow. Nashville batted around in the first. But Davidson looks like he had a rough second inning..

Jeez - bad start for Carolina. They gave up an infield hit to the first batter and the second doubled to right field, with both runners scoring on an error.

In addition to swapping in Ethan Dorchies for Wande Torres (who didn't actually pitch in the suspended game yesterday), the team brought in Luis Lameda for Brady Ebel.

Maybe we'll still see Torres and Ebel in the nightcap.

Mudcats trail 3-0...oh, now 3-1 after back-to-back-to-back hits in the 5th inning, the last a Luis Lameda RBI double.

Biloxi takes game 1. Wichrowski looks like a Wichrowski line - a few hits, walks and some Ks.  Higher pitch count (90 for 5 IP).

Shuckers score 7 via 4 hits and 7 walks, plus 2 errors by Chattanooga.

Heckuva turnaround for Biloxi, scoring 1 in the 3rd (Cooper Pratt double) and 2 in the 5th (Luis Lara single) to tie up Chattanooga 3-3, falling behind again 4-3 in the 6th inning, then putting up a game-winning 4-spot in the bottom of the 6th inning (Garrett Spain grand salami) to win the first game of today's doubleheader 7-4.

Brettt Wichrowski threw 3 shutout innings after the rough start and Travis MacGregor earned his first save.

The bad news is that Eric Bitonti K'd to strand the potential game-tying runs on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the 5th inning, dropping the team to 1-for-7 with RISP and 5 LOB (vs. 0-for-1, 1 LOB for Salem).

The good news is that this is a 9-inning game, since it's a continuation of yesterday's game. C'mon Mudcats!

Encarnacion, Anderson and Di Turi are due up in the top of the 6th inning. Dorchies didn't allow any hits over the 3rd to 5th frames (retiring 10 of 11; 1 walk), but they trail 3-1.

That’s how you score 7 on only 4 hits. Huge hit. And Spain has a lot things for Biloxi - key hits, situational baseball plays, running the bases, and key defensive plays.  He stats don’t wow you, but he is a guy who does those other things that winning clubs need.

Wisconsin and Beloit are very busy blowing opportunities up to the 7th inning stretch, combining to go 2-for-19 with runners in scoring position thus far. Wisconsin trails 3-2.

Tayden Hall tripled and scored on a Luiyin Alastre single. Marco Dinges has a double (stranded). Andrew Fischer and Luis Pena are a combined 0-for-8.

Jesus Broca is pitching his 2nd inning of relief of Ryan Birchard (5 IP, 3 R, 5 Ks), with Josh Adamczewski, Dinges and Luis Castillo due up in the next half inning.

RHP Tyson Hardin (last pitched July 11; 2.67 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 84.1 IP High-A/AA IP) is BACK from injury for Biloxi, as they try to sweep tonight’s home doubleheader over Chattanooga. Game One Hero RF Garrett Spain is back atop the lineup to do more damage.

I haven’t had a chance to watch. But impressive for Ethan Dorchies.  Gives up a couple runs in the first, but then goes 6 full innings, 90 pitches, 3 hits, 1 walk and 6 K!
