if Freddy can mow through the 2nd...so huge - just turn this into a laugher

Yeah this top of the 2nd is huge. Been sitting for 25 minutes but he’s gotta come out sharp. Clean inning and we’re in amazing shape

Brewers approach on Boyd was to attack early knowing he would likely attack the strike zone since he would have limited pitches

As soon as Soroka came in they started taking pitches again

I think a big part of that is the fact the Brewers have seen Boyd so much, too.  Not that the Cubs had any other great options to start game one (maybe Soroka?)...but was surprised that Boyd was that starter.

Knowing he got knocked out after a 30 pitch 1st inning probably shouldn't sit well with Cub fans knowing Boyd may now get the ball for either game 4 or 5, either.

Okay, Freddy. That is what is called run support.

Need a shutdown inning after all that.

Hopefully Freddy threw a quick bullpen session during that half inning to stay warm😂

Hoping for a quick inning for Freddy.

We need the bats to stay alive. More runs would be fantastic but at least force Soroka out by the 4th. Dont let him throw 10 pitches per inning.

Edit: I cant type lol

True. Both teams have seen a lot of the pitchers so should be interesting how it plays out this sereis

But was obvious looking at how ugly the first swings were by Durbin, Yelich and Frelick on that first pitch the main objective was just to swing at anything that first pitch

I don't think I'd ever throw PCA a strike on the first pitch.

There we go - stay out of big inning trouble and keep grinding at bats out when you're back in the dugout.

Pitch was way low as well
