LOL

Not sure what that is so funny... LAD had a 748 team OPS against the Brewers in the series. If the Brewers had a team OPS of 777, that changes the series quite a bit.

And this is why we need to shift the talk to football.

This is a baseball board, but I'm sure if you look real hard, you can find a Bears board to post on.

I give you credit though, being a Cubs fan on a Brewers board, and still checking in is commendable.

That's a 2nd LOL

Nothing matters, no numbers you can bring to the table.

The only thing that counts in baseball is RUNS

You can throw a thousand numbers and stats at me, but at the end of the day, we would have gotten our tails beat by both the Rockies and Pirates scoring only 1 RUN PER GAME.

You cannot challenge that fact.

1 run per game doesn't win in July, certainly NOT in October.

(don't get pissed at me for my thoughts)

Dude, I'm not "checking in",

I'm "participating".

That's what these boards are about 😊

Do u have any links to a good Packers forum ??

OMG,  you'll never stop with the whole "Payroll thing".

(you set the all-time record of 38 posts of the same thing)

How are you going to live until next April?

I'm truly concerned, (I just started liking you).

And more importantly, Mark Attanasio is liking me!image.png.9a828d925f159f140043d2cb1ddf6618.png

Not sure why I'm wasting my ink because if you don't understand that higher OPS generally leads to more runs, I'm not sure what I can do for you.

They will have to figure out how Isaac Collins factors in.  Just over two months ago, he was the best hitter on the team and the ROY favorite.  Not even a month later, he was the worst player on the team and that continued through the end of the year.

Collins makes no sense, Milwaukee Brewers activated LF Isaac Collins from the paternity list. This is where it all went down hill. Also the Dodgers made us look like a last place team.

Nope, I'm not a Packers fan, although I'm pretty sure there is a thread here in the off topic forum if you are really interested.

Google some of my user names?  Kind or cringey, creepy and weird, but have at it...

I do understand what OPS is and what the word general means.

But  in this case it did NOT lead to more runs, it led to NO runs.

What I don't understand .............  is how some of you want to argue he had a good series.

How low are the standards here?

13 AB - 4 hits - 5 strike outs - 0 RBIs

I guess I just don't get it - not my fault - I did not ask to be born.

You are correct, you do not get it. This has been explained pretty thoroughly, but:

He had a .973 OPS. He reached base 5 out of 14 plate appearances. This included a walk, two doubles, a triple and a single. He also stole 2 bases.

His 0 RBIs had absolutely nothing to do with his individual performance and everything to do with the hitters around him not getting on base for him to drive in.

If every hitter in the Brewer lineup had the exact same 14 results every 14 plate appearances in the NLCS, they would have scored a lot of runs.

You have to follow the conversation thread and not just read one comment (LOL).

The premise was that if the Brewers (team 384 OPS vs LAD) had hit as well as Durbin (I used 777 OPS for the playoffs - looks like adambr2 was using his LAD series 973 OPS) they could've swept the LAD (who had a 748 team OPS).

Or the simple version... if we would've outhit them, we probably would've outscored them... and perhaps even swept them.

And a Unicorn may fly out of your a$$ and land on my finger.  (lol)

We were totally outmatched !!

They basically have a team off All Stars.

(that's not an equal playing field)

How can we NOT have a salary cap ??

One thing about Murphy-

it's not just the relievers (ashby, uribe) that he rode too hard down the stretch, it's also the three lefty hitters that are struggling. Yelich, Turang, Frelick.

Those guys didn't get nearly enough days off in the regular season. Especially that 19 games in 18 days stretch or whatever that was. There was certainly opportunity to give those guys an off day here or there, and he didn't. And now they're feeling the effects of that.

I agree 100% if you mean Murphy was relentless until we locked up the division then everyone got the good break they were looking forward to and could not get the freight train restarted for the playoffs, they were just beat down as far as I'm concerned.
