Ashby is good for another 25 today no doubt  lol

That's not even a joke, he hasn't pitched in 3 days so definitely is ready to go.

Drohan > Ashby > Woodford if the score keeps up this way, otherwise Megill and Uribe will get in.

Where are we in terms of challenges won from our hitters vs. others teams? I cannot imagine we are not bottom 5.

Brewers are 28th in batter challenges (33%) and 16th in catcher challenges (62#). They certainly seem to be on a bad streak with batters for sure.

Find someone to love you like Murph loves Greg Jones………Chourio can’t get here soon enough but in the meantime just run Lockridge or even Perkins out there……my god

There was a note on ESPN today that they lead in challenge WPA.

What company would have insured Brandon Woodruff's contract? They'd lose their shirt on the premium.

You don't think a market exists for insuring baseball pitchers with an injury history? How would any pitcher ever get a nine-figure contract?

Exactly. Brewers only ones not seeing him as a huge red flag. He was hurt when they gave it to him and they then traded the healthy guy making 12 million less.

$14M less for Peralta ($22M to $8M) … but I still approve of the trade for Sproat & Williams + I love Woody earning $22M

I mean I’m sure if the Mets were willing to give us Jett and Sproat for Woodruff instead of Peralta we would have been happy to do that instead.

They definitely exist. I know Prince Fielder’s contract with the Rangers was insured, and he was already having injury problems with that contract.

I’d guess they are more common with multi year contracts, though. I’d guess the Brewers have guys like Chourio, Yelich, and Pratt insured because if those guys had a career ending injury, that would set the franchise back years financially. A 1 year $22 million contract is a lot, no doubt, but it’s not a franchise altering contract.

Well apparently Jett can't beat out Joey and Sproat has been shaky to say the least. We shall see.

Agree to disagree.  He turned down a 2026 contract, and got paid 10M.  Thats this season.

I understand what youre saying too.  He's making 32 THIS season on the terms of 2 contracts

Nope, that was paid in 2025 as part of his 2025 contract,

For most teams true. For Mark A teams I'm going with yes. There is nothing to indicate he's going to let them spend 20 million to fill the holes on this team.

For Brandon Woodruff, no I don't, or the premium would be so high that the Brewers wouldn't take it on.

Greg Jones is the worst Brewers player since???

Vinny Capra was a pretty good comparison. Jones is definitely in that territory or worse.

Setting aside all the discussion about Woody's health and his contract, it's ******* awesome to see Contreras punishing a pitcher in DAY GAME AFTER A NIGHT GAME!  I get workload is a thing particularly for guys who are your primary catcher, but it's time for the Brewers to stop acting like William having a productive day game after a night game is like a bigfoot sighting.

I was going to say Yuni, but honestly that is somehow unfair to both players.

Vinny Capra  isn’t a bad pick, but I don’t remember him making as many mental errors (not hitting a cutoff man, popping up a bunt, challenging a pitch fully in the strike zone)… plus he could play a plus defensive position.

The last player that I can think of who looked this bad with the Brewers is a pitcher: Johnny Hellweg.
