The High-A Timber Rattlers have been outscored 50-18 thru 4 home games against South Bend, but have rehabbing RHP Quinn Priester (last pitched May 1) starting this afternoon. 1B/OF Tayden Hall is quietly having a solid season (.879 OPS in 88 PAs).

I genuinely don't think it's an overreaction to say Priester looks absolutely horrible. We should have no expectations for him to be a useful MLB pitcher this year

im mostly curious to hear about velocity. his control is abysmal right now but i would think he can figure that out.

He sat 90-91 with his sinker today, cutter was 89-90, slider was 80-82, curveball was 77-78

Just got pulled. 1.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO, 1 HBP but bases were loaded when he left. 47 pitches, 23 strikes, 24 balls.

Two positive notes from the ACL Brewers’ game:

- C Luis Corobo is healthy - first game since April 24
- 18-year old 3B Yu-Lin Liao has his first career hit

We lead the Reds 2-1 after 2 innings, with 18-year old RHP Diustin Mayorquin getting the start

So disappointing.  I wonder if he will truly recover.  Still a great season we got from him, but if surgery is now delayed, and then recovery we may not have much from him until 2028. 😢

I guess we need to keep that "Other Team to Boston to Milwaukee" pipeline going each year. 😉

The type of TOS surgery Priester would need from my understanding is the one that Wheeler had. Wheeler had it late August last year and and made his first start this year in late April.

If it is the other TOS surgery you could probably kiss his career goodbye

Even Woodward is struggling. Now I’m sad and the T-Rats trail 12-1 in the 4th inning.

I’ll forecast catcher Andrick Nava to pitch the final 2 innings.

I can't imagine any other series in Timber Rattlers history was as lopsided as this one. South Bend has scored 500 runs in the last few nights.

Yeah this been an abysmal week of baseball for the Rattlers, particularly the pitching.

I genuinely fear they are going to do long term psychological damage to Jose Nova by continuing to throw him out there in games when he clearly isn't good enough. He goes 0.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 0 SO, 1 HBP in 37 pitches with 15 strikes. Leaves the bases loaded for Alastre so he will probably be up to 6 ER by the end of the night with his ERA sitting at 28.08 currently.

Irresponsible hot take but I think Hughes is a top 10 prospect in the system by the end of the year and a future Top 100 prospect

Painful that this ends up being correct and Alastre also got 2 outs before it got to Nava.

The Timber Rattlers front office should make Sunday's game free admission after these last 5 games.   Man alive - 24-2 and South Bend still threatening in the 9th.

RHP Garrett Stallings was stellar in his last start (6 IP, 0 R, 4 Ks) and can lead AAA Nashville to a 5th straight home win over South Bend. 21-year old CF Luis Lara is 10-for-17 with 8 walks in his last 5 games.
