He's given up one run against the Champs in 4 innings so far. The overreactions are a little wild. It is clear that he has some development left but this is so much better than throwing out some washed up vet.

Coleman Crow is washed?

This was not a good idea to send Sproat out there for the 5th. It hasn’t worked before, he’s been shaky all day and this isn’t the lineup to play with fire.

I think the Brewers success does allow Sproat to have a longer leash but I think we are fast approaching a kind of breaking point. This is his 10th game and he's only gone 5 innings in 3 of those 10 games. He's only gone more than 12 outs in 5 of his 10 games.

He isn't a vet and I never mentioned him so....

Exactly. Mention him when you go through your defense of Sproat. We have better options.

At some point you can’t just force it all year on a first place team. If he’s a swingman, long man than he’s a swingman/long man.

Murph is bound and determined to get Sproat over the hump today.

It's either going to work or it’s going to cost us the game.

Update: it cost us the game.

Gasser followed by Sproat against two-time defending WS champs is difficult to watch

Not our best look

extra innings to a weary bullpen

Yeah, I wish Murphy would've gone with Miz today instead, but I guess he figured to save him for a divisional rival.

Crow has had 10 nice ML innings but 35 AAA mediocre ones this year. He will get more opportunities to pitch but there is a reason he is in AAA.
