Nothing you typed made me less worried.

In this day and age, it seems like every professional pitcher is one mishap removed from breaking. With fans, meanwhile, the less control we have over something, the more anxious we feel about it. It's like watching Giannis shoot free throws in game 6 of the finals. I've come to the conclusion that there is no point sweating the injury and bad breaks stuff. Enjoy the amazing performance runs when they come, find something else to do when things go south.

Misiorowski said. “I felt like I wasn’t in my legs as well as I should have been, but I felt halfway decent.”

But everything works together so it is a little bit concerning.

I think you all are worried about nothing. He's not hurt. He's not reporting pain. He wasn't on the IL. He's NOT HURT. There's been a few times where he's reported being "fatigued".

There will be plenty of time to worry about the implications of an injured Miz... when it happens. And guess what? When he gets hurt, he will be irreplaceable. There is nothing the team can do to mitigate his risk of injury when playing baseball aside from him not playing baseball... which is exactly what he was NOT doing in the 5th inning yesterday.

When I watched Murph live last night and he used the word, "concerned," I interpreted it as a live-time description of how the manager is watching the game. Murph was doing a play-by-play of where his mind was at during the game. He was "concerned," the way he'd be "concerned," if Asby's mechanics were out-of-whack. Sure, he's concerned about the physical risks associated with throwing out-of-whack, but he's also "concerned," the way a manager is concerned that his starter is about to get lit up.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s hurt. Murphy even said he could have gone longer last night. He’s not injured. He just is slightly off right now compared to his usual self which happens to every pitcher throughout the course of a season.

With that said, he can be healthy and we still have to figure out a plan for managing his innings whether that be skipping starts, shutting him down for a bit, etc. He needs to be pitching effectively in October. Just because he’s healthy right now doesn’t necessarily mean he should take the ball every 5-6 days as long as he’s healthy.

I mean aren't they doing the plan? He hasn't pitched in 13 days and then went 4 innings.

Question is, will they let him go 5 Sunday if he is still starting that game.

Yes. I’m just saying, no one should necessarily be alarmed and assume any injury if he goes a couple weeks without pitching or has outings cut short at 4 at this point in the season.

I found Justin Verlander's comments on velocity interesting.

He said that he was throwing 93-94 early in games and if I needed to go to the well and hit 101-102, I could [do that] late in games, but I certainly wasn’t throwing over 100 every single pitch. You have to rely on pitch placement for longevity in the MLB.
