Here's a different take:

As a Brewer fan, tough to pick PCA, but if I'm drafting a fantasy team, and my next pick is between Chourio and PCA for the 2027 season only, it's PCA and an easy choice.

Even if it were a keeper league, it would be a really tough decision, but if I am not choosing based on fandom, it's PCA.

That being said, and not based on fantasy baseball, I'm going with PCA and it hurts my heart to say so.

Something to really consider is Chourio has been a much better hitter than PCA was at the same age. 

Chourio currently has a 122 wRC+ and a .343 xwOBA at age 22 vs. PCA who put up an 86 wRC+ and a .286 xwOBA at age 22. 

As a hitter, I might take Chourio going forward. 

PCA's defense unfortunately is absolutely generational which gives him the edge right now, especially as he's taken another leap at the plate. But he's also 2 years older than Chourio. So, get back to me in 2 years and I think there could very well be a real debate. Chourio is hurt value-wise by the Brewers not playing him in CF, though.

I think the answer is clearly PCA. The defensive gap between the two is substantial. Even if you think Chourio is going to take a leap offensively and PCA isn't going to maintain this offensive level, PCA's defense would still keep him above Chourio.

One thing I don't agree with though is that Chourio hasn't improved. I think we all wanted him to really break out especially after he finished his rookie year so strong and it hasn't happened yet. The underlying numbers though I think show he's at least heading in the right direction.
