They were messing with us. Blayberg Diaz came in to catch.

And he hit an RBI double to grab a 4-3 extra inning lead, as opposed to it being Baez like they showed for awhile.

They also briefly showed Michael Fowler closing out a 4-3 win, only to then update to show a run scored on a groundout. 4-4. On to the 13th inning.

In his 5th start for AAA Nashville, LHP Colton Gordon (6 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 4 Ks last outing) seeks his first win, which would give the Sounds a 2-0 home series lead over Indianapolis. Sal Frelick makes his 4th rehab appearance, all as designated hitter thus far.

22-year old LHP JD Thompson (3.90 ERA with 37 Ks in 30 High-A IP) makes his AA debut as he tries to help AA Biloxi end their 6-game losing streak. 1B Andrew Fischer has a 17-game on-base streak.

Well, I just finished watching the Sounds play an inter league game with San Diego's PCL affiliate. Oh wait, that was the Brewers. Ooops.

Well the DSL Brew Blue Crew beat the DSL Padres. So we will get that win in the bigs in 5-6 years from now 😉

Seriously though. The past couple of weeks since the trade deadline have been challenging - losing a few prospects for what may not be an upgrade (especially the Rockies trade ugh).

Seems like a cool down for Fischer, Payne, Adamczewski, and still few pitching breakthroughs.

Not only is Biloxi losing a lot lately but they are getting absolutely demolished in their losses. They are really going through it.

Colton Gordon's fastballs from a stuff perspective are genuinely awful. If they're in any hittable location, it's getting pummelled (all three homers off the 4S/Sinker

 

However, if the Brewers can find any sort of velocity to make them playable, I really like how the sounds used his pitch mix here, and he was getting a lot more swing and miss, especially elevating the four-seamer above the zone and using it as a chase pitch

So there is something to work with here??

I was assuming the trade was for McCullers, but he was used to fill a few innings then quickly released, so I imagine they saw something with him, so maybe

I would say yes, there's something, but only if they find a way to get more from the fastballs. Without that, it just can't play

I'm referring to this as the Curse of the Josiah Ragsdale Trade.  Biloxi was firing on all cylinders on offense & since the trade, Rags has scuffled with his new team (4-27, .185 AVG, 2 HR) and the Shuckers offense has been in a tailspin.  Not sure how to fix it, but I also know baseball is hard.
