8/18/05 - Brewers (Ohka) @ Astros (Clemens)

Interesting how every year, exept for this one, has some reporter spouting off about someone on pace for 80 HRs, and I've heard D Lee being mentioned as a possible triple crown guy, but no one seems to mention how close Clemens is to 1.12, Bob Gibson's record ERA that has at times been listed as one of those unbreakable records in sports. I think a <1.12 era for a whole year would be a stunning accomplishment far more credit worthy than the triple crown.

That lineup just screams offense...as in bad language can be seen as offensive to some viewers.

Edit: before people get too mad at me, I was referring to their #s against Clemens

Give it up to Lyle for building up Clmen's pitch count. 8 pitches and counting, well a nine pitch at bat is pretty valuable against a guy like Clemens

Something they forgot: "Clemens generally doesn't give up a lot of hits, a lot of home runs..." unless, of course, it's the All-Star Game, and you're the American League All-Stars.

(I think Manny Ramirez's homer is still in orbit from last year...)

Whew! At least no no-hitter.

I'll bet two of those five pitchers shown in that graphic don't make the Hall of Fame.
