Can someone explain to Ned that it is very easy to find Magruder's splits and to see he doesn't even reach .200 from the left side? Durrington is a better option than Magruder from the left side.

On a side note Ryan Braun is 4-4 with a HR and a double. He's hitting .353 now.

 

Also, Eveland does NOT look like David Wells.

I would think that Branyan would have been ideal there. No DP's (3TO) and he is left handed. They weren't going to pull Morris. Hall can pinch hit vs King or the other lefty.

 

Seems elementary to me.

He hit Magruder because the game isn't on the line in the 4th inning. In my estimation, the only real "mistake" he made was bringing the IF in in the top of the 4th. It rarely, if ever, makes sense - especially that early in a game.

Are you sure we will get another oppurtunity like that again? We needed a run there, and Magruder was the 3rd best option we had in that situation.

I think everyone would be better off if they didn't worry about the Wild Card. I don't think it will be an issue by 5:00 Wednesday.

Completely disagree. Putting in an all or nothing guy who is very prone to the K with bases loaded, one out, for one AB in the 4th inning would have been a mistake. Who would you rather have later in the game, Branyan or MacGruder?

 

Again, because it didn't work out, you consider it a mistake. If Branyan would have struck out, I am pretty sure you would have considered that move a mitake as well.
