AZ is pretty excited about how Craig Counsell improves them on defense. Aren't WI fans happy for a WFB grow up to have his employees want him?

Counsell did an outstanding job last year for the Brewers. The only knock on him is his salary was high, but it wasn't ridiculous like C. Guzman. He should do a fine job for the Dbacks leading off. He'll play good defense, hit probably .260 or so, draw a lot of walks, and should steal 25 or so bags.

No! praise for a local boy doing well was my intention. It seems baseball people outside of Milwaukee appreciated what Craig brings more so than what many Milwaukee fans did. I like when all Wisconsin players do well.

If by outstanding job you meant decent defensively while a gaping hole offensively. Counsell was a huge pasrt of the problem last season. Moving him to second when he is barely above replacement level at short makes no sense. He won't hit .260 since he hasn't hit that since 2002.

We shall see endaround. It is interesting seeing him batting first and talking him up so highly. I am just happy for a local guy who plays the game so hard and the right way imo to get acculades around baseball. AZ is happy with him so let's see how often he gets on base which is #1 for a leadoff hitter and let's see how many runs he scores. Last year until a late slump Counsell was near the top in ob%. Counsell now is in his mid thirties and runs so hard every play it is fun to watch imo.
