Ray King-R-Brewers Sep. 4 - 2:29 pm et

Brewers acquired LHP Ray King from the Nationals for a player to be named.

King rejoins the team he pitched for from 2000-02. The portly specialist had a 4.54 ERA for the Nationals. Left-handers, though, were hitting just .161 off him, showing that he can still be useful while facing one batter at a time. The Brewers are picking him up too late to include him on the playoff roster if they make it.

This may be a dumb question what the heck does LOOGY even stand for or does it not really stand for anything at all? Is it an acronym or did someone just decide to call left handed specialists loogys?

nice move would of liked if they did it last week though. I always liked Ray when he was here the first time.

Ill put it here, since there is nowhere to put it, but they called up Rivera, so I guess Miller's injury is more serious.

Nice, but would have been better Aug 31. Maybe Ray can play guard for the Pack too.

He can replace a DL'd player, if need be.

If Parra takes much more than 2 weeks to recover (heck, maybe even if he's "okay" then), he'd be one option for King to replace. We really shouldn't have a need for Parra in the playoffs anyway..

Could the person who originated this post please include the actual link? I visited some of my fav sites including MilwaukeeBrewers.com and there was nothing.

Thanks.

If this season is going down to the wire, which I presume it will, there will be plenty of oppurtunities for Ray King to pitch in big spots. Now I just hope our big boned friend keeps getting lefties out.

Thank you everyone for your help. :-) So it looks like Stetter is going back to Nashville to help the Sounds win a PCL title. That's my guess at least for this move. Unless Cappy is going to be released. I dunno.
