Giants to part ways with Bonds

Nobody will like this comment, but I would take him at 1 year at 9 million to fill Jenkins spot. (Yes, he would be too stubborn to take less than ten.)

He could start 100 games and bat 3rd in front of Fielder, Braun, and Hart and put up another 30 jacks and .450 OBP.

Yes, I am that desperate to win.

I'd love to see him with the Brewers, but I'll be happy if he's an A (which makes the most sense).

I don't think it's "desperate" to want Bonds with the Brewers. I fail to see how wanting one of the 10 best hitters in the league is a bad thing. He's a great hitter and he'd help the Brewers score runs. As far as I'm concerned that's all that matters.

I think Seattle's a good fit. If they let Sexson go, Ibanez can play 1st, and then you've got a vacancy in left field. Barry can split his time there and at DH.

Brettac and billyhallfan,

Of any two people, I am surprised you two are with me on this one. We have had our battles, but we all just want the Brewers to win.

The real biggest move that has a small chance to happen is we get rid of Yost and add LaRussa and absolutely cleanse ourselves of Derrick Turnbow.

The UniWatch guy wrote about possible destinations in a post a couple of days ago and I thought it was humorous..

Could this low ranked defensive team win with an additional brutal defensive player out there next year?

Swapping Jenkins decent glove with Bonds glove instead can't be a real confidence boost for the Brewers pitchers out there.

Glad to see him out of a job if only for a time being. Where ever he goes it's most likely going to be the american league and as a DH. I know that the Yankees are building more from the farm system now but he would look great as there DH and i could see them taking a 10-16 million dollar flyer on him!

Are the A's really a possible destination? I didn't think they had the cash to pony up for Bond's contract. Bonds is making $15 million this year. I can't see his ego letting him play for less than $10.

Eric Chavez is the highest paid player on the A's and he only makes 9.5 million.

Besides Cust is having a heck of a year, 930 OPS, and is so much younger and cheaper.

Yeah Bonds is going to the A.L. He said he's not playing LF anymore.

And by "not" he means "not capable of".

Not that it's ever likely to happen, but put me in the camp that wouldn't give another penny to the team I love if they signed the satellite-noggined, tiny-testicled #25.

I'm hoping against hope that Jeff Borris can't find a buyer for Bonds and discovers what 15% of $0.00 comes to.

I would love to have Bonds's stick in the lineup. He would be another masher in a stacked lineup while also bringing his astronomical On-base ability to a team that really needs it. However, he would also hurt the Brewer defense quite a bit, so I'll still be content when he goes to the AL somewhere.

Yep, I watched about 10 games along the LF line just beyond third this year at AT&T Park and Bonds is a major, major defensive liability...no team but the 2007 San Francisco Giatns would likely put up with it.

I really love the idea of Bonds in a Rays' uni...maybe they could get Sosa and sign McGwire and Canseco (rename them the Cash Brothers) out of retirement too and have Hit Show II: HGH Boogaloo.
