Tonight, I've just heard the dumbest thing of my entire life:

Tim McCarver was surprised that a leadoff home run, this year, has led to more multi-run innings than a leadoff walk.

Huh? Am I missing something? Barring some real strange occurrences, shouldn't this always being the case?... you know... since you already have a guaranteed run in with the leadoff homer?

I don't know how they can outdumb themselves, but they keep finding ways.

Will we have the option of listening to Bob and Jim in a Brewers postseason? or will it have to be some bad national team?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

He's said that before, it was on FireJoeMorgan.com. This guy is a "top" baseball analyst. Ugh.

After a leadoff homer, a team is expected to score 1.49 runs that inning. After a leadoff walk, a team is expected to score .88 runs.

Tim McCarver also said "Terry Francona sat on his hands and watched" in the first inning after Wake retired three men in a row after a leadoff walk and stolen base. Was he supposed to bring in Beckett??

I know that listening to the post-season on XM so far, I have had 2-3 options per game. Usually it's been the home team announcers on one station and the ESPN National radio broadcast (Jon Miller) on another station. I know that one night, the visiting team's broadcast was also put through. So they DO broadcast the post-season on local radio.

I can't believe no one mentioned that ridiculous Manny "stare longingly/raise arms over head/slowly walk out of the box"-move after his homer--with his team down four runs!

Way worse than anything Braun did this year--or the Cubs' demonstratives, for that matter.

Scott Van Pelt (or John Anderson; somebody from ESPN) made fun of Manny not once, but twice during the show for his grandstanding when his team was down 4 runs.

If Manny keeps it up, he's due for some serious chin music next season. Heck, if I was a pitcher or catcher I'd run up to him and push him on his way and tell him to "get going!"

Maybe if Ned Yost was managing. Getting into a bean war in any post-season games doesn't strike me as smart...
