Probably due to need. My guess is he's marking time until a college coaching job opens up somewhere and is getting the requisite minor league time in.

I think maybe Yost's conversion to first base may have had something to do with his wrist. When he was at Oshkosh, he only played first base because of his wrist problems.

i saw him catch at georgia and he wasnt very good...i'm amazed he has made it this far...but he looked much better last year than he did 5 years ago at UGA

He was an absolute stud at Wausau in the Northwoods League a few years ago, a man among boys. Every throw between innings was right on the bag, so if he can catch, he certainly should, it's his only chance of a career.

 

I'm shocked he works full-time. With his dad obviously "comfortable", I would think he'd be working out 6 days a week as his "job".

That's true Al. I guess I would have expected his father to help support him while he tries to make a go of professional baseball. But at the same time, construction likely keeps him physically strong and works many of the same muscles.
