  1. RobDeer45, you could try Libre Office. It's the offshoot of Star Office and it's free.
  2. All I can say is Buh-bye Mr. Five-and-a-half Seconds left.
  3. Is Nikki Minaj real? Or is she just a CGI experiment some Christof wannabe is pulling on us?
  4. I'm assuming the deadline for Marlin season ticket holders to renew was yesterday. This could warrant a whole new thread, but what are the ramifications for teams trying to build new a new stadium? This could give the anti-stadium populace a huge piece of ammo.
  5. I admit I ragged on the flanneled one up and down over the prequels, but he's earned my utmost respect for this: http://thecelebritycafe.com/feature/2012/11/george-lucas-donating-most-4-billion-charity The details aren't out, but most of his proceeds from the sale are going to charities. I don't feel so bad over buying multiple copies of the same movie.
  6. Hawing, I think that those who say it reminds them of the Brewers logo are more influenced by colors rather than color with form. It doesn't remind me of the Brewers logo, FWIW. And now back to your regularly scheduled thread about the new Astros logo - which I consider pretty meh.
  7. The book "Milwaukee Braves: Heroes and Heartbreak" by William Povletich is pretty good if he's into Braves history. runs sub $20 on Amazon.
  8. I was hoping they would go backward in SW time and do movies on the Old Republic. Perhaps something leading up to how the "rule of 2" came to be with the Sith. Epic battles between hordes Jedi and Sith would be pretty cool.
  9. I hear ya, TLB. My mind is spinning. I also agree on the original version - would it kill someone to release a digital cleanup version of the original?
  10. http://bottomline.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/30/14809629-disney-buying-lucasfilm-will-release-new-star-wars-movie-in-2015?lite EDIT: second link http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/30/disney-buys-lucasfilm-star-wars-7_n_2045632.html?utm_hp_ref=entertainment They'll supposedly release Star Wars 7 in 2015. I'm highly skeptical, to say the least. Total value of the deal is $4.05 billion.
  11. So a battery of Gallardo to Torrealba would be a Yo-Yo? I know. . .
  12. Go Cubs! (that feels so wrong) Speaking of avatars, if the crew makes the playoffs I'll bring back Bill the Cat! If that ain't motivation. . .
  13. Every time I see the Impressions of Roenicke thread in the Major Leagues forum, I think of somebody doing a Rich Little of our manager. (Kids, just google him.)
  14. [sarcasm]I hope he gets shingles again.[/sarcasm] He doesn't get shingles anymore, shingles get him.
  15. The ovation given to Chipper Jones by the folks at the game tonight is definitely not bugging me. Great job, Crew fans!!
  16. Yeah, I saw that. I'm halfway tempted to watch because of that. I'll only watch if Barry Bonds is also on.
  17. It's a bacon woot, to boot!
  18. Mills' firing would have been announced sooner, but he ran into the gm's office to argue it. Seriously, I do agree that the timing is curious. Either Mills really ticked somebody off, the owner wanted a jump-start in finding his own guy, or maybe even both.
  19. Brewers bullpen: responsible for more runs than crypto.
  20. Two of 'em. Dana Carvey - Choppin' Broccoli, she was choppin' broccolaayyyy. Adam Sandler (on Kevin Nealon's Weekend Update) - Red hooded sweeeeat shiiiiirt (with Nealon's dip-dip-dip). EDIT: One more. Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga doing Liquorville. EDIT2: Yet another. More cowbell!!
  21. Back in the 90's against Detroit in County Stadium we were at a night game that had scattered t-storms heading east that missed us. We sat on the first base side, unusual for us. Cecil Fielder hit a blast to left that was out of the park. When the ball finally came down, a flash of lightning off in the distance seemed to strike the ball from our vantage point. No meaningful record or occasion, just a really cool visual.
  22. oh he will He knows we get off on this stuff.
  23. Question regarding trading players on the DL, could they be a PTBNL? If so, that would be a way around that.
  24. This really ages me. I remember the jokes on the bottom of the can.
