  1. I played in LL against his son's team once (he was the coach). He couldn't have been nicer & more down to earth. I don't claim to know him at all, just that in my experience as a kid he was a classy coach & made sure to congratulate the players on our team who'd played well (we lost) after the game.
  2. How this game isn't being carried on MLB Network or FSN-WI is beyond me. I just assumed with this pitching matchup that it would be. Lame.
  3. I think he just legitimately thought he didn't cross the line before the ball hit the rim. Watching the replay, it was closer to him being 'onsides', if you will, than I thought initially.
  4. Wow, what an intense battle between KU & OSU. I'm definitely glad KU won, but sheesh. I need to unwind after that one. Great game.
  5. Does that make T-Plush Professor Chaos?
  6. Because his employer respects his right to privacy Too bad that he didn't reciprocate that respect. As I said, good riddance. How did he not reciprocate? I didn't read the interview.
  7. Because his employer respects his right to privacy
  8. I'd guess an unexplained absence would be most likely a family/personal issue, so that would probably not be a good thing to pass judgment on.
  9. Talk about culture shock -- from the D.R. to Helena, MT. I'm not sure the typically-uber-cautious Brewers will start Arcia in Helena; it'd seem to fit their (at times painfully-) slow approach to start him in the AZL league.
  10. I always liked (hated) Fontenot's swing, for a smaller guy, when he was with the Cubs. A career line of .267/.337/.413/.750 against RHP sure would be nice to have coming off the bench instead of Izturis's "hitting"
  11. Yeah, I really can't believe they've got him stateside already. This Brewers MiLB season is going to be a lot more interesting to follow than last season imo.
  12. Oh, he's better without question. And yeah, we need to put together some sort of ritual sacrifice routine this season so Rickie & Alex stay healthy.
  13. I want to say Brad Krause is someone MassHaas has linked to in the past. I don't mean that as any kind of comment on your links, YG (thanks, btw, great to look through!). But am I remembering that correctly, MassHaas (or anyone)?
  14. I think the need for us readers to contribute can only make this forum even better. Everyone who participates is going to be just that much better informed. I know I had a lot of fun following the AZL & Helena kids last season, I really did look forward (most nights... sometimes it was tough ) to seeing how the baby Brewers had done each evening.
  15. Bump, since the season is rapidly approaching. I have to believe there's more than four or five people who can give some time.
  16. Yeah, gotta get the uber-valuable Brooks Conrad on the field as much as possible!
  17. I didn't mean I expect Izturis to play 2B (the less game action he sees, the better). I just was responding to the note that he hasn't played much 2B.
  18. Adam McCalvy with some interesting snippets from a Corey Hart interview on WSSP -- Let the BF.net speculation begin!
  19. Conrad continually filled up the "gritty battler" line in the boxscore that is Ron Roenicke's heart.
  20. You know, & it's not like Izturis has even wowed with the glove this spring. Although I would have zero worries about a guy with a good rep and/or skillset at SS handling 2B. I'd guess the reason Izturis hasn't really played 2B is that, through his career, he's just been a slam-dunk option as a SS defender. So, after all, this is a Doug Melvin team -- defense be damned! Honestly though Fontenot's bat alone would probably outweigh whatever small edge Izturis may have on defense at this point.
  21. There's a place for Green, but like you alluded to it's currently being wasted on Brooks Conrad. And I thought your point in your last post was about Green being blocked by Gamel, I see now in the edit that it was about the bench really, and where Green stands in the domino effect scenario of Gamel flopping, Ramirez being hurt or needing to move to 1B.
