Watching Manny Parra match Francisco Liriano tonight was pretty cool -- kinda put his recent success in perspective a bit for me. While I understand that 4 starts is a miniscule sample, this is the Manny Parra the believers have been waiting to see. Over these 4 starts, he boasts an ERA of 3.52, K/9 of 11.4, BB/9 of 3.5, and WHIP of 1.35. 7 of his 9 walks allowed came in the first two of these four starts, in which he was obviously still getting stretched out. Maybe this is some kind of confirmation bias on my part, but I'm personally done worrying about how Manny will pitch on any given night. I understand that three of these four starts I'm citing have come against teams that either haven't seen him, or have seen very little of him (TEX, COL, MIN), but I think we have a legit #2 on our hands now. I'm really looking forward to what he & Yo can do together the rest of the way.
