  1. Cornell was underseeded. Seriously though, when your ONLY Sweet 16 and Elite 8 appearances come from beating ONLY teams that were 10 seeds or lower, it says something. I agree Cornell was underseeded, but I'm supposed to believe every single one of those other teams you listed wasn't?
  2. [quote author=trwi7 wrote: [/b] So I guess Cornell is just another unimpressive 12 seed, huh?
  3. I did. I thought the defense flat-out sucked today. I think pretty much any team would struggle to beat a team shooting over 50% from three, as long as the team was shooting the three-ball often.
  4. They will rebuild and be just as strong (if not better) next year. I don't agree at all with this. Leuer could easily be a lottery pick this year, & losing both Bohannon & Hughes will hurt. I think the Badgers will be pretty mediocre next season without big-time breakouts by at least a couple of players.
  5. Can't defend the perimeter... check Can't rebound... check Can't defend high screens... check Can't put a press on or play uptempo while trailing by double digits in the second half... check I have serious concerns about the effect of Bo Ryan's coaching in this game.
  6. That's how I'd rank them too. The biggest disappointment I have with TH is that many times he doesn't provide anything that can't be readily found online and/or in the box score in ST. Witrado actually had some nice nuggets on the clubhouse interactions this spring (even though I agree that he should be gone).
  7. I wholeheartedly agree with the first sentence -- it's my main problem with this situation right now. However, I would like to see if he could help in the bullpen for mop-up duty (someone's got to do it), and spot-starting/SP depth. Would it be realistic to think Soup could stay stretched out with bullpen sessions and/or simulated games? If he'd be on mop-up patrol, he wouldn't exactly be getting regular work.
  8. That's from the 2010 Dominican Summer League thread... Bruce Seid talking about 18yo RHP Joel Dicent. I feel like with Seid, it's 'so far, so good' in terms of his performance. I'm pretty happy with how the organization has been targeting arms, personally. Seid has mentioned velocity in some way or another numerous times, so I'm guessing this isn't a temporary focus. That should make TheCrew07 happy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Plus, the typo is pretty bad. Was "if" supposed to be "it"?
  10. PHEW Yeah, what Ben Sheets said. Holy cow was it getting me riled up. Glad to see, though, that Ryan & Co. gameplanned to run so much through Leuer on the offensive end. Nankivil came up with a huge rebound down the stretch (& got blatantly bumped too, but I guess even the refs were rooting for the underdog) on the baseline, so I have to give credit where it's due. It was really terrible how invisible both he & J-Bo were for basically the entire game, though. I didn't even want to see Bohannon on the foul line (when Leuer ended up draining both with ~4 secs. left), which is definitely saying something. Another concern for me is that our perimeter defense was beaten consistently in the second half, whether through screening or dribble penetration**. You can't keep winning if your bigs constantly have to come off their marks to hold your guards' hands on defense. If the Badgers make it to face UK, playing defense like that would mean losing by like 15 points imo. ** -- I swear the Badgers have the worst combination of [ability to defend high screens]+[ability to utilize high screens on offense]. It drives me insane.
  11. Looks like the Badgers won't have to worry about matching up with Temple. Sheesh.
  12. That looks like a nice compact stroke from Lucroy. Kinda reminds me of McGehee's swing.
  13. If they lose to Wofford it will be because Diggs & Rundles are on fire from three, & the Badgers' shooting is awful like it was against Illinois. Imo no reasonable projection has UW losing tomorrow, and would probably read something like 60-48 UW. Wofford's "bigs" are listed at 6'6" & 6'5", so Leuer should have a field day... and good grief if there's ever a game for Nankivil to muscle up in the post, it's this one!
  14. As of right now, the ad on CBS's NCAA hoops schedule page is a Brandon Jennings Under Armor ad http://www.cbssports.com/...ag=pageRow;pageContainer
  15. It was probably the best conference this regular season, with the Big 12 a close second. I completely agree with what you're saying, though, RyDogg. The Big East is a huge conference, so they have more room at the top... and bottom.
  16. My take on this is pretty simple. Just properly diagnose and treat the injury the first time, and do it in a timely manner. Well, yeah. Unfortunately it's not always that simple, though. Please note that I'm not disagreeing with your larger point about the Brewers, as I share some of those sentiments. However, it's not like every single sporting organization doesn't want to abide by the quoted mantra. It's just not always as easy as "Well just handle it perfectly the first time, every time!" Players hide injuries, MRIs aren't always conclusive, etc.
  17. Macha seems to use some odd words/phrases sometimes. I don't think it's anything more than just a personality quirk, but it's kind of weird sometimes.
  18. Great shot for Murray State. Am I the only one that was surprised Vandy didn't guard the inbounds pass? Murray St. didn't have any timeouts left.
  19. Deadspin's Will Leitch with a post on the Fielder celebration/incident. Excerpt:
  20. I could be wrong, but wasn't yesterday the deadline for cutting non-guaranteed players to receive only 1/6th of their salary? If so, I'd assume that is a good sign for Bush. I seriously doubt the Brewers have ever considered cutting him. "Cut Dave Bush" = 2010's "DFA Weeks"
  21. As long as endaround isn't right on an arrest warrant, imo Dukes would be worth the risk for a team like KC, TOR, or SD -- teams that would have PAs for him at the MLB level if he hits enough to warrant a call-up. The Mets should probably even look into it.
  22. That's one of the biggest reasons I want to see Gamel start at 3B
  23. Are you claiming he forgot how to pitch? Or that when he was hurt, he wasn't able to pitch as effectively?
  24. Couldn't they just pick someone up if that happens?
