    I agree strongly with Crew07 on Friedman. I think he's the best in the league by a relatively wide margin.

    There is no one in that bullpen that can match Nathan's stuff. He is a legit relief ace, and outside of ponying up big-time in trade, no the Twins absolutely cannot replace his quality.

    It just doesn't make any sense for the Brewers to move one of their best 5 SP. This is not some super-deep starting rotation that we have.

    Whoa, what a huge loss for the Twins. Their bullpen might be deep, but you can't replace a guy like Nathan.

    Starting the year in Nashville is fine imo, since Macha loves McGehee (& Gamel would hardly play... just waste service time), but I'm concerned about his shoulder long(er)-term

    Just watching the ST game replay... top of the 8th inning included some shots of Angel warming someone up in the bullpen. Good grief, he's a beast. What is he, close to 225 lbs? And only 5'9"?

    I'm concerned that Gamel was out of the game by the 3rd inning... doesn't seem like you'd want to get Craig Counsell ST at-bats ahead of your top hitting prospect. BA & Rock didn't talk about it at all, but I hope Gamel's shoulder isn't a problem. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

    I believe that the more time Gamel gets at 3B, the more he will show why some believe he will be a plus defender there. That was a really nice play.

    Judging from the radar images in the Phoenix area, I doubt the 2:05 game will have any problems

    From the JSOnline's Brewers Blog today: The Weeks segment is at the bottom of the article. This is really good to hear, especially the defense imo. If his progress in the field last season wasn't fluky and/or small-sample related, we could have an incredibly valuable player on our hands.

    I'm really not liking how much Macha is hitting Gomez 2nd. It would take a tremendous breakout season from Carlos to justify him batting there. I *do* like to see, though, that McGehee is DHing & Gamel is getting time at 3B. I'm excited to see him play today.
