  1. And clearly Mota has no ill effects. I think Yost was pissed bc he thought the Dodgers dugout called for the ball to be swapped. That said, my crude lip-reading 'skills' saw West say something to the effect of, "No, I saw it" to Ned.
  2. Yeah... this could get a whole lot worse tomorrow -- ligament-y worse. I hope that's not the case
  3. Please no, please no, please no... though I'm fairly sure it will be Gagne. Why not have two injured RP in one game, right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. With how much our bullpen has been worked so far, that extra work Parra turned in was not throwaway, was it?
  5. Gotta be a tough E on Braun there. I called it. I'd say this happens 90% of the time... Try not to leave a welt on your back... You only 'called it' because the defense went to crap. Nothing to do with Parra's performance.
  6. This strike zone is consistently.... awful EDIT: Is it just me, or did Ryan have an easy running catch with some more hustle there?
  7. GREAT effort on the dive there by Prince. Man -- almost got 'im
  8. Yes -- that's near or at the top end of his 'normal' FB velocity. He does indeed have filthy stuff.
  9. MPS, the strike zone has been strange, but consistent as far as I can tell. Lowe has been getting the strike call on the low-outside corner (v. RHP) with his sinker... happened to screw over Hall for two bad calls.
  10. Well at least the strike zone is consistently crappy. Hall must be real happy.
  11. Juan Pierre is... how you say?... suck
  12. MYGAWD was that a horrible call. Had to have been half a foot off the plate!
  13. No, I mean, I can't believe how much better he is... bc I agree with your assessment! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif As in, I expected him to be light-years better, and I still can't believe he's better than I expected
  14. Amen, rluz. On the whole, his defense has been nothing short of stellar. I can't believe how much better he is than Estrada... and that's saying something!
  15. "I think you're saturating the market -- driving down the value" -- BA "That's impossible" -- Rock -- On Bill signing his autograph "My cards sound pretty good in the spokes of a bicycle" -- Bill Schroeder
  16. Now that's how you buy out some of a young player's FA seasons (2, if you're counting -- '11 & '12). Even with his injury history, this is a deal that I think works for both sides. Nice scoop, trwi.
  17. I think his pitch recognition is among the best of the current Brewers (if not the best). Rarely does he even have to check his swing on the sliders/breaking stuff that breaks down & away. Compare that with someone like Hall -- who I would agree has little to no batting eye -- that frequently starts his swing on breaking pitches out of the zone. When trying to define something as abstract as "batting eye", I think the raw data helps, but only to a point. I think Rickie has ended up taking pitches that are strikes, but this year I think that has far more to do with his early struggles than 'not having a batting eye'. In short, I think he happens to not be 'seeing the ball well' right now, but overall I think his eye at the plate is as good as the best the Brewers have, if not better. Perhaps I'm in the 'it seems like' territory. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. You mean... Soilent Moderators is ... PEOPLE?!
  19. I hope this thread never dies. This is the second consecutive day its posters have made me laugh to the point of my eyes watering. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I can't go character-to-character, since I don't know if it's fair or not. I guess I'd just grade them overall. Family Guy -- B Simpsons -- A Both grades factor in the entirety of each show, and there was actually a lot more thought put into it than the plain letter grades might suggest. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I honestly don't understand why so many people want as powerful a hitter as Weeks bunting. Sure, mix it in here & there if you're good at it, but Rickie isn't. It's basically asking a guy to make more outs.
  22. Everybody Love/Hates Ray-Bob?
  23. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Wow! This first deal just made me shake my head & chuckle: OAK trades Mark Mulder to STL for: SP Dan Haren, RP Kiko Calero, 1B Daric Barton OAK trades Tim Hudson to ATL for: OF Charles Thomas, RP Juan Cruz (now with ARI), RP Dan Meyer
  24. "he has no batting eye" Come on. That's not even close to being fair.
