  1. Dillon doin the dang thing after some 'throws'
  2. adambr -- isn't there only one? My Gamechannel (Yahoo) shows one. EDIT: Whoops, my Gamechannel is dumb.
  3. Bush... maybe time to pull him after the 5th? (just a thought, not necessarily tied to any results from this game)
  4. Who was the outfielder who would slap his glove against his thigh a bunch of times before catching the ball? Or am I imagining things? Barry Bonds, the least-cocky ballplayer in history! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I've got the hot-dog vibe from watching Soriano, as well. The hop is him being cocky/flashy, imo. 'Look, it's so easy to me, I'm going to make it harder -- then I'm cool!' EDIT: hubris/'pride goeth before the fall', right?
  5. But were you able to watch the Sheets-Santana game on Fox? I thought the reason it was blacked out was due to Fox picking it up for their Saturday game.
  6. No HD TV, and I'm with Comcast. Appreciate all the chimers-in!
  7. The ability to draft is ultra-important Very true. I wonder how much FA spending impacted their draft pick pools over the seasons.
  8. Yeah, I see it being offered at $199. Is there anything else anyone thinks important to know before purchasing this?
  9. He would advance quickly, and allow us to move Rickie to the OF. Not according to that scouting report, he wouldn't: "He's such a good athlete that he plays the position and gets it down, but there's a lot to clean up there with his footwork, hands, instincts and mechanics." Sounds a lot like his older brother, who's still fighting an uphill battle to get to just 'average' defensively.
  10. If Bush is injured, that would make things a bit more interesting. Then he'd head for the DL, and the current roster obviously wouldn't have to change. He could head to the DL if he were 'injured', too.
  11. The Brewers salary cap is self imposed. Its based off the teams projected earnings. Therefore, Suppan helps the team win and earn more money, so his signing increases the teams self imposed salary cap. Its always important to win now, to hepl build the teams budget. Well, your comment on Suppan is highly subjective, and you'd find many here to disagree strongly. I'm kind of 'meh' about Suppan. I think he is what he is, and in 2010 his contract won't look so bad. But for the time being, I think his deal very much plays a role in re-signing Sheets. Like it or not, the salary considerations are there for good reason, and to just start spending to retain anyone that's good so we can 'win now' seriously ignores the fiscal realities facing this organization in the next 5 or so years. Sure, you want to 'win now', but you also don't want to end up like San Francisco.
  12. I am not kidding. So... Sizemore, Martinez (best hitting C in baseball), Hafner, Peralta, Blake, Carmona, Betancourt... Don't do anything for ya? The Indians have one of the most talented teams in the majors.
  13. John Buchigros (sp?) Buccigross http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I enjoy Van Pelt's style, but it's the contant harping on baseball 'truths' and old 'knowledge' that bugs me about ESPN.
  14. Awesome -- thanks for the feedback, Ando. Hopefully later tonight (or this week) I'll have an update about adding the package!
  15. Payday is today for me (dangerous), and I've been thinking about adding the Extra-Innings package for some time now. The only concern I have is over any blackouts -- are there any problems with missing a game on Ex. Inn. when you live out of market for your team? Or are the blackout problems only related to living in-market? Thanks in advance.
  16. Why release Vargas? To save three million? Then why did we give him two million or so just to come to spring training? As brewcrew00 noted, he didn't want to pitch from the 'pen, and he didn't accept Milwaukee's offer to send him to AAA, iirc. Vargas basically said, 'If I'm not in your MLB starting rotation, let me go so I can have a shot at someone else's.' ... And then signed a deal with the Mets to begin the year in AAA.
  17. We traded for Linebrink, to nitpick. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I really liked the Suppan... signing. Ironically, it's that signing that's going to play a huge role in whether or not the Crew can keep Sheets. If the Suppan contract can get moved this offseason, then there's plenty of room to ink Ben. If not, his raise from $8 mil. to $12.5 mil. for 2009 will be a crippling blow to any shot at retaining Sheets.
  18. Shoppach would be a very nice back-up catcher. Victor Martinez is dealing with a hamstring problem, which can be a nagging kind of injury. While I agree that Shoppach would be a fine backup C (heck, he'd be an improvement for a lot of teams as a starter), I seriously doubt that TBow alone would get Cleveland's interest.
  19. Linkage The batter cards are how the batter fares against certain pitches. To be honest, I have no clue as to the rhyme & reason for a guy having or not having a card. I'd guess some players just don't have enough reliable data... that's a guess. EDIT: Here's the answer, right from the blog post -- "Lastly, while I had to upload today's batch by hand tomorrow's should be automatically uploaded so you should have completely up to date player cards at your disposal." -- Josh Kalk
  20. Vargas signed with the Mets.
  21. I got a response from Trenni on this one and she has someone looking into it on the FSN wisconsin side. In case anyone cares. Wow. Trenni is not only blowing us away with her on-air responsibilities (& related prep-work), but she's been an invaluable contact thus far... which to me wouldn't seem like her job in any way, shape or form. We love ya Trenni! Btw, bit of advice... if you post here or start, don't reveal who you are! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Actually, he's pitching in Portland for the Pads' AAA club, the Beavers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. SF, I'm curious for your answer on this, too. (I live in PDT zone)
  24. That's essentially the same amount of pitches a starter would throw in that stretch of games Huh?
  25. Cleveland is really bad. Outside of Sabathia they have nothing that would help this team as much as a rolling Turnbow would Blue font? I'm not saying any of their talent would be a fair trade for TBow, but you have got to be joking with that comment.
