  1. I disagree 100% with that last part, and really his workload lately hasn't been huge. He'd pitched most recently on the 7th, 10th, 11th, & 13th (4 of 7 days)
  2. I think Estrada can bring back a significantly better return than a mid-700s OPS first baseman.
  3. If the market was strong, I'd deal Marco at or before the deadline this season. Not because I don't like him, but because we're in a perfect position to do so. With Nelson, Thornburg, Smith, Fiers, & others behind him, for once the Brewers can sell from their pitching as a position of strength. Marco+Weeks might entice a contender later in the season. My hope would be that the Crew could find an long-term answer (otherwise BPA) in corner OF with a package like that.
  4. Well, if the lack of replies didn't give you a hint... I'd have to say it was pretty underwhelming overall. It wasn't well organized, most notably in that the speakers the Brewers provided for the Q&A session weren't capable of being loud enough to fill the relatively small Sausage Haus. A couple Brewers front office employees gave some fairly interesting insights & answers. But honestly I didn't think the BP guys during the Q&A were that great (in fact, we left before its conclusion because we didn't want to risk missing the intros & opening pitch).
  5. Agreed. A Top 20 would make it palatable to re-visit multiple times each season, too.
  6. He didn't really make any mistakes. Pure bad luck... two of the softest-hit balls you'll ever see
  7. Any word on where the colbyjack-led tailgate is going to be today? The email from BProsp. noted a location would be announced day-of, but I haven't received notification of anything yet today. I'm referring to the tailgate before the actual BPro. event.
  8. I'm really excited to see how he's received on Saturday. I know I'll be cheering.
  9. Including at sister-site Lambeau Leap Forums http://forum.lambeauleap.net/viewforum.php?f=57 Typically excellent draft discussion over there.
  10. BIG GAME HUNTER: First baseman Hunter Morris has recorded a hit in 16 of his last 20 games (.302, 23-for-76) with extra-base hits in nine of those tilts (seven doubles, four home runs), including two doubles on Monday. Call him up already (or soon, if service time needs to be managed). Obviously Lyle's a great guy, but it's pretty clear that he can't hit enough anymore to be a viable MLB option at 1B. Morris has been a fairly obvious platoon candidate for a while now, & I don't think it's a stretch to say that he'll out-hit the .700-ish OPS you'll get from Overbay. Plus, you can always use seniority as a reason to give Reynolds more than just the LHP side of the platoon if Morris hits a rough patch. We'd actually have a power bat off the bench when Reynolds starts, too.
  11. Good observation. I know it's not great to live in the past, but I selfishly hope they go back to something like these (my all-time favorite Bucks unis): http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/225/full/7crnwjghkt5sg6rp9zgxkzco7.gif http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/225/full/u4ay5i0ft6rz7w7fhebh96fe8.gif http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2013/0823/nba_g_lucas_kh_576.jpg
  12. By the way, Saturday's game will be CC's return to Miller Park! Great tweet on this a few days ago from Mike Vassallo
  13. Good read, & we get a definitive answer on his scoreless IP streak
  14. He's so far exceeded even the relatively lofty expectations I had for him coming into this season. I can't believe he fell so far in the draft.
  15. Man. Sucks to see this. Best wishes to you, Mark. I hope this isn't the end.
  16. Section 207, per an email sent out on Sunday to all attendees. I'm officially excited now!
  17. THAT is debatable... Even with RRR at the helm, we still get Yosted... I don't see much of a difference between them actually. Maybe we should call it RRR'd? Roenicked? Oof. I know you (& others) really don't like Roenicke. But imho it's just objectively true that Ron doesn't come anywhere near Ned in terms of the face-palming decisions.
  18. People might not like it but it is totally relevant to the situation. Players from Latin America come from a game with a completely different culture where playing with flair and passion is the norm and the opposition doesn't get offended by it. It's enough of a slippery slope on an internet message board that I think we should steer well clear of it. If other mods think I'm overstating it, then I hope they chime in.
  19. I was there during the struggle, comrade! And you opened my eyes to the way & the light.
  20. I know he's not a minor leaguer anymore, but the Reds placed Tony Cingrani on the DL yesterday. "Mild shoulder tendonitis" was the diagnosis. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24547722/reds-place-tony-cingrani-on-dl-with-shoulder-tendinitis
  21. 502 & H&T: No más on the ad hominem please. Passion is appreciated, but the name calling will have to end.
  22. I'm figuring you meant no offense by this post, DS, but this thread is absolutely going to not go down this path of discussion.
