  1. Forgive me, but why is Lucroy out? Because of Peralta? If so, that's dumb in my opinion.
  2. Oooo, maybe only the second stupidest. That game was way more important. And I call these posts the height of hyperbole and hysterical theatrics. What totally awesome lineup with current roster blows this so obviously out the water? Any lineup that doesn't have Gomez hitting 2nd and Betancourt hitting 4th. Now THAT's the height of hyperbole and hysterical theatrics.
  3. Agree. Including the one in the playoffs with Mark Kotsay starting in CF.
  4. Gallardo's contract is a steal, as mentioned.
  5. No. He should not have let them tag him. He just should've stayed on 2nd, since the Brewers are far better off with Segura on 2nd than Braun. On #2 your take is absolutely right though.
  6. How so? It's people making mostly idiotic statements about drinking on both sides of the argument and then when there's actually a reasonable one, those arguing on both extremes continue to talk over each other. I guess so. I did find it very interesting to see the huge difference in opinion geographically. I learned something there. I always knew Wisconsin had a reputation, but it's interesting (to me at least) to see how huge it is.
  7. I was deathly afraid of this as well, simply because it's something Doug seems to like to do, not because of anything I knew about Segura.
  8. Same here. Although, as others have said there's no risk. Except to my sanity. He's one of my least-favorite Brewers to watch ever.
  9. Jim, thank you for your response. It was intelligent and well thought-out. I think, given your explanation, that I agree with you for the most part. What this really boils down to, for me at least, is whether Yovanni changes his behavior based on this incident. If he does this again, I think it's pretty clear that there's a pretty big problem. Hopefully this discussion ends here.
  10. I think we basically agree on everything except the whole ".22 is a problem part". The rest of your statement is what I was getting at. If it's such a problem how do 90% (or whatever # you want to use, certainly a majority) of those college kids overcome it so easily? That's my only question. Yo did a very, very stupid thing. I sincerely hope it is not indicative of an overriding problem. And I'm very aware that it could be.
  11. At least they're using Axford against the right part of the order.
  12. At this point, I'd be surprised if the Brewers won this game.
  13. Just to be clear, that's not necessarily my position--the "it's a weekend" part. I just think that if you're going to speak in absolutes like .22 is a problem, then 50% of college kids are problem drinkers, or 25% or whatever # you use. I just can't agree with that at all.
  14. I honestly didn't know that because I have been there in about 10 years. I simply won't go anymore. It's a terrible stadium and a huge hassle to get to IMO. The thing that kills me is this talk of "tradition". What tradition? Losing 90 games a year? Well, a year ago someone who didn't live in MKE could have been complaining about how bad Milwaukee's stadium was if they hadn't attended a home game in 10 years. When you did go, did you take public transportation? I actually think its much easier to get away from Wrigley after the game than it is from Miller Park. Actually I would've said the same thing about County Stadium 15 years ago. It needed to go, and I'm glad it did. Last time I went, I took a cab from my hotel, but I have taken the train to Wrigley many times. I just don't see why anyone would want that type of situation, in terms of traffic, bathrooms, and just a tiny tiny environment when something more modern could be built. God knows they could afford to put it just about anywhere in the greater Chicago area.
