  1. Or we could have just kept Scooter and his 900 plus OPS. Right, because that's not an anomaly or anything.
  2. A Cubs team that just sent away a group of top prospects in response to the Brewers' success. If the Brewers stick to their plan, the pendulum will shift sooner than you think. That's why 2017-2018 are irrelevant for the Brewers. I have no expectations going into 2018, it's already wonderful that we don't have to watch a 90-loss team while we wait for the prospects. I expect Stearns will gather another band of misfits for spring training and maybe a couple of them will work out. Pretty much perfectly stated in my opinion. Personally, I will be very disappointed if they make a big move by trading prospects. I just want the GM of ONE of the teams I root for not to be an incompetent idiot. He's doing great so far.
  3. Agree 100%. I'd trade Ortiz, but I wouldn't like it. Woodruff and Burnes are going nowhere. I'm offering Ray, Diplan and Harrison. If that's not enough heck with it.
  4. I was at Game 3. I am not a fan of Willie McGee.
  5. I've watched him pitch several times this year (he's been on my fantasy team for the last 4 years), and he really doesn't seem the same to me. Seems like the ball has been up way more than in the past. I was really hoping the Brewers wouldn't acquire him. I think he's losing some power, particularly in his legs, although his velocity seems fine, if down just a smidge. Or that could all be wishful thinking.
  6. And the Eaton trade. I still think Giolito is going to be good.
  7. There's only 71 games left, so it's gotta be like 65.
  8. This is who I was going to bring up. I'm wondering if it would make some sense to bring him up and put him in the pen. Keeps his innings down and utilizes what appears to be a pretty solid talent.
  9. I'm going to miss this team for 4 days......
  10. Maybe your magic ball wasn't worth the money you paid for it. Lmao without the terrible ump he probably walks Gregorious and Sanchez. Well you're a ray of sunshine.
  11. Really happy they got 4 of them signed. Love the strategy.
  12. "Stearns probably saw him as the perfect tanking team player"
  13. When will we know the dollar figures on these signings?
  14. He didn't say anything definitively. Read his post. He may well have been deserving of the award. I personally don't care if he was or wasn't. What I care about is what he'll be in 3 years. My concern is that his ceiling is an average fielding shortstop or utility guy who is very unlikely to contribute offensively (in my opinion). Seems pretty high to take a guy like that but they may have plans for that money, in which case it makes more sense.
  15. approx. $100k I think they gave their 9th round senior sign last year $25k. Can write down another for the 10th round too. That is basically what all teams start doing in the second half of the first 10 rounds. If you look there was a single high schooler drafted in the 9th round(8 since the start of the 6th round). It is all guys they can get for at slot or under slot. It probably isn't a big deal regardless. I doubt it takes that much extra to bring in Lutz and as mentioned the Brewers already know what they need to bring him in. Yeah I noticed that too about the 9th round. Pretty standard strategy as you said. Our guy could hit in college though. So that's some upside I guess. Appears as though he was pretty good defensively too. Edit: And another college senior in round 10 as predicted. All but one of the first 13 picks in round 10 were.
  16. There's an underslot college senior in round 9. Not sure how much that would save though. Not much I'm guessing.
  17. Nick Egnatuk. HS 3b. Don't know anything about him.
  18. Gimme about 5 more pitchers in a row here please. I like taking bats high, but I would really like to see more pitchers now. Love the Murphy pick.
  19. I was joking around. Just thought it was funny. I had a lot of fun with it.
