Great job Stearns! Act like a buyer and deke the Cubs into making two deals. Brilliant.

Cubs Games- Getting More Brewers Fans Into Miller Park
FVBrewerFan replied to rickh150's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
True, but thats not it. Ticket prices are simply wayyyy lower than Wrigley, simple as that. We also keep talking about fans coming up from Chicago. But there are many thousands of Chicago area natives now living in Milwaukee, so much cheaper AND easier for them to go to games at MP. -
They need a bat, maybe two. They need another arm in the pen. They really probably need another SP. Which is why they shouldn't get any of them.
-
Big picture, they're still right in the middle of playoff hunt. I have read dozens of comments, mostly in IGT, that they had to sweep the Cubs, or win the series. Now all is lost, CC is stupid, Stearns is scared, etc. Just ridiculous emotional response. The IGT really has turned into talk radio. Every player is horrible, CC has never made a single correct pitching change decision. People still don't understand there's two full months of baseball to be played. Will they turn it around? I don't know, but the season isn't lost just because they only took 1 of 3 from the Cubs. They weren't supposed to be in the race in August. To whatever extent they are, enjoy it!

Nah, even winning more won't make much of a differece as long as the Cubs are good. -
Wang didn't last long today, it happens

Wang is out!!!

Shhhh he's everybody's wonderboy around here. Don't go away mad, just go away.

What a selfish AB by Heyward
-
You guys honestly can't just enjoy a great 1-1 battle. Yes, our hitters swung at some balls, so have the Cubs. Nobody is being "selfish" it's just a free-swinging team, and it's feast or famine.

This Crip hasn't thrown a strike all inning and you pop it up
-
True confession. After seeing thousands of baseball games, I still can't tell when to call a strike on a check swing.

He throws one pitch for strikes, that won't work as a starter.

Brewers showing interest in Curtis Granderson
FVBrewerFan replied to Brewcrewin07's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Three pages on Granderson? There's 99 reasons why that rumor is out there, Brewers being interested ain't one. -
It's also insanity to bring up guys who aren't ready. The names I keep seeing have not been doing well recently (Lopez, Burnes, Woodruff) And in the case of Woodruff, he's just coming back from injury. With that said, If they want to DFA Blazek and Peralta, bring up Wang and Wilkerson (or Jungmann) I'm ok with that. I also have no interest in seeing any more of Scahill or Espino.

Yes, that's exciting. And makes me wonder why Missaki is not active yet. -
Brewers showing interest in Curtis Granderson
FVBrewerFan replied to Brewcrewin07's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Sounds like someone from the Mets just screwing around with the Brewers again. -
lol, not suggesting he pitch today. Was just wondering if the slow train from Chicago finally got him to the east coast.
-
Has Swarzak showed up yet? Or is he just going to fly to Tampa to make sure he's ready by the next road trip?

He doesn't need you to make excuses for him. This was supposed to be another wasted season, that's how the team was built. Now we're surprised it's actually turning out that way. Oh, and the best options at SP ARE actually in the rotation. Hader, Burnes, Woodruff, Wilkerson and I am probably missing some, all should have been used as a starting pitcher before Blazek. Stearns didn't hit on really any bullpen arms. Did he go out and sign top end guys? No. But he whiffed on a closer and he's whiffed on just about any other arm he's brought in. Not only is he above true but as a team that kept winning games and building a lead, he sat on his hands even though it was very easy to see the true colors of this bullpen. He could have been proactive rather than reactive. He's failed this season. Hopefully he learns from it and the same with Counsell. Well, Blazek isn't in the rotation- you said rotation. But I get it, Stearns and Counsell are stupid, stinky, and have no business being near a professional baseball team.

It's practically the national pass-time around here. If there's one thing we can be sure of, every IGT will have some who nitpick the line-up and blast CC for bullpen usage. Every single game. Over the course of a 162 game season, I'm sure CC would look back and made different decisions here and there. Him and every other Manager. In hindsight, he probably would have just started Barnes with a clean inning. But Nelson was rolling, so made perfect sense to give him a shot. That decision, in my opinion, had the biggest impact on that disaster of an inning.
