  1. Packers defense is basically the Washington Generals. Just putting guys out there meant to be scored on. Scenery.
  2. Can't argue with any of those, but I'll add my personal favorite. Driver does something stupid, 100% wrong, then looks at ME funny or flips me off.
  3. I'm not at all familiar with how that works, but assuming it's true it helps explain why the deal didn't get done. Seems Puig would have to be part of that deal, which isn't nearly enough as the keystone. In order for the Brewers to do the deal then, they would have to take Puig and would want a top end prospect like Deleon. Plus, possibly pay a chunk of Braun's salary. That's a messy deal, and hard to satisfy both sides. It's still possible, just seems one side or the other would have to knowingly get the short end of the stick.
  4. I don't see anyone giving him a big contract, but all it takes is one team. Not sure I want him back, even a cheap base/ incentive laden deal. Lacy is a good RB when he wants to be, which fits perfectly for incentives. Problem is last thing this team needs is 70% effort players.
  5. If he gives up less than 3 TD bombs a game, he IS an impact player.
  6. There's a big difference between college and NFL though. 2 point conversions are tougher in the NFL, and you also have to consider coaches don't want to use their best goal line plays on 2 point conversions. As far as going for it on 4th and short, I think we've already seen that trend the last couple years. Coaches are definitely going for it more often these days. I think it makes sense in today's NFL with all the scoring. Matthews would never restructure his deal! What to do with Cobb? All depends what it would do to the cap. I used to have a great source for cap info, but the guy who kept it updated is MIA.
  7. Yea, I can't see them staying near .500, but it's possible. Just way too many guys getting way more minutes than they should for their roles. But they need 5 guys on the court, so not much choice. They have barely beat bad teams missing their best players, even lost a couple of those. Some of those line-ups they have on the court, Beasely is literally the only guy who can score. But I'll continue watching most of their games, because Giannis is worth watching. And yes, fun watching Jabari develop too. I hope as the season roles on we'll see Maker in the rotation. (I have no problem with him not playing right now, I'm sure they have a development plan.) I do think making the playoffs should be the goal, you have to start somewhere. They just need to make way better roster decisions moving forward.
  8. That chart isn't showing plus/ minus?
  9. I will say, as Edgar Bennett has moved up in the ranks, the offense has become less and less potent. Because it's MM's offense, make no mistake about it. Doesn't matter who the OC is, as long as MM is HC he is convinced his plays work, they just need to executed.
  10. He hit .738 in A, then .727 in A+ both when he was roughly 2.5 years younger than avg player there. Good k rate, and good walk rate. That's not earth shaking, but there was reason to hope. Anyhow, that's why there WAS some love for him, but not much anymore.
  11. Not buying the injury excuse. Shields, Randall, and Lacy being injured all year is a legit reason why I don't expect them to win a SB. But it's not a good reason for them to be playing uninspired football and heading towards a 6-10 record. As fans, we can think they're too beat up to do anything. The problem I have is the players believe it. No excuse for that, they need to go out and play inspired, confident football every week. That's a coach's job. They have failed to handle adversity, as MM always preaches. Yea, the corners are a big problem, but it's not all on them. They have their top 4 safeties, and they have not helped shore up the secondary. No consistent pass rush, even though countless high draft picks have been spent on pass rushers. Which leads me to GM. The Packers simply don't have the quality depth they once had. I mean there IS another CB on the roster, Hawkins. If he's not playing now, why is he even on the roster? You keep 2 RBs, one fat and one old. Could go on and one with the roster construction. Just venting, I fully expect TT and MM to be back next year, with Capers being the sacrificial lamb for this debacle.
  12. Yea, there's literally a dozen guys left unprotected I would have on the 40 man over Goforth.
  13. 1) Spatchcock the bird. (Google if you're curious) I think this makes a difference with turkey (or whole chicken for that matter) 2) Brine- Again you look this up, lots of "recipes" 3) Inject, depending on your tastes. Sometimes I inject, sometimes I don't. I like Cajun, but most others don't in my family. 4) Don't overcook! There's more, but those are the main things off the top of my head.
  14. Nah, it doesn't need to be that precise. I don't like these absolutes and ultimatums. This will shake itself out in it's own time, no reason to assign these types of rules to it. Anything being said here about Peralta can be said of Nelson and Anderson too. Garza and Guerra don't fit into the future plans, so they don't belong in some sort of protected class either. Peralta knows he needs to perform. Either he does or he doesn't, but there's nothing magical about 5 starts. Plus, what if two other guys are just as bad or worse? Which is entirely possible. Then there's injuries. And, we don't know if/when Hader or Lopez will be ready. All reasons why a decision like this does not exist in a vacuum.
  15. Problem isn't his refusal to use FA. His problem is he hasn't drafted well the last few years. Same thing happened to Ron Wolf, only Wolf realized it was time to step aside. One prime example is TT's fascination with the West Coast, drafting so many players (especially early round picks) from USC,UCLA, Stanford, etc. You can't tell me the best player available was from those schools so many times. Ever since the NFL has had a salary cap, it's been critical to have players who play great early- during their first contract. The Packers used to be outstanding in that regard, but not anymore. Name a position group other than QB, and it simply hasn't gotten any better the last few years.
  16. We all assume having multiple unis generates more revenue, and I'm sure it does. But there's a downside too. With Christmas coming up, looking for unis, sherseys, hats for a few family members. It's tough, because I don't want to get something that will be outdated in a year. (Or even before next season.) It's a big reason why I haven't bought a jersey for myself in a couple years. I mean, it's hard enough to pick a player these days. Then add all the confusion with the various logos, unis, etc. It's weird, because the fans have spoken. I think overwhelmingly people want the ball and glove. It doesn't need to be exactly the same as the 80s, just come up with a clean logo and design and stick with it for more than a year.
  17. This is a key point. I don't know that Peralta needs to be singled out as the guy who has a month to prove himself. Davies is about the only guy who is relatively "safe." Not to mention, we don't know if Lopez or Hader will be ready by then. I'm open to Peralta being moved to the BP, I would play this out for a while with no pre-conceived notions.
  18. I'm aware, but times change. I think it would take Mark A going to him and letting him know a Dodgers trade isn't going to happen. (If in fact it comes to that.) As long as the Brewers and Dodgers are talking, I don't see Braun expanding the list at all.
  19. Yea, wish I knew what Braun is thinking. Is he expanding the list of teams he would approve or not? That's the big question. Because if he opens it up, I think there are a few teams who would be players, and yea Houston would be one of them. Something keeps telling me if it's not the Dodgers, it will be the Braves.
  20. I think this is the key to what I've been saying from the beginning. I don't blame MM. Or TT for that matter. I realize these discussions generally end up getting emotional with people wanting to "throw the bum out." That's not at all where I'm coming from. It's very difficult in any sport to really know when it's time to move on and get a new GM. It's even tougher yet to know when it's time for a new HC. I mean, it's almost never as easy as "so and so sucks, they need to go" or "great coach don't even think about firing him." I think we make the mistake of equating GM/HC jobs the same as ours. They're not. Sometimes it's just time to move on, and in my opinion that's where the Packers are at. It doesn't mean either TT/MM are bad at what they do.
  21. First part I'm quoting from you is a pretty strong indictment of MM. 5-6 years with a roster good enough to win the SB and never did. Or even MADE it to the SB. Lost at home in the playoffs at least twice I can remember in that stretch. Lost to the Seahawks in a game that should have been won. I know, you can't win the SB every year. But MM hasn't really even knocked on the door since the SB they won. Your other comment, straw man. I never heard anyone expect a 12-4 season with the injuries they've had.
  22. Sure you can, and they've done it in past years. Every team has injuries, do the Packers have more than average? Probably, but other than the Corners they could have easily planned for this. Matthews always misses a stretch of games every year. They have about 19 guys who are supposed to be OLB/DE type of pass-rushers. None of them are Clay Matthews but nobody has stepped up. They carry 7 WR and MM doesn't play a couple of them, they're just trying to stash them on the roster. No luck drafting or developing any TE, so you get a decent FA (cook) with no quality depth behind him. You carry a FB you rarely use instead of another RB. Etc. Most years during the Favre/Rodgers era there have always been guys to step up. Next man up, MM always says it himself. Just not happening anymore.
  23. I would suggest you find a good local independent agent. They will have access to many more markets, and find a solution that makes sense for your particular situation. As for Liberty, I get the frustration, but I'm sure whatever they did was legal. The big insurance companies know exactly what they can and can't do in each state, I promise you. But sometimes it fells good just to write that letter!
  24. I think you're taking this out of context. I think he meant that's how many games this season where he had an impact.
