  1. What day would you be moving? (Sorry I'm busy that day.) Seriously though, congrats! Exciting times.
  2. No Sept call-up. 35 innings to date. Projecting 22 more starts @6 innings each =132, for a total of 167. I don't think using avg innings to date is very accurate, because they started him off very slowly. Yes, he won't necessarily average 6 innings/start the rest of the season, but again the playoffs and AFL gives him a cushion too. That's how I came up with that range. Of course if he misses any time for injury, that's unforeseen and all bets are off.
  3. Similar to a routine DP grounder getting messed up and only getting one out. Not an error, because you still recorded an out, but really should have been two. Maybe it would make sense to have a "team error" in that case. I just don't like that the pitcher could give up earned runs as a result of these type of plays.
  4. I don't know that I enjoy it, but it doesn't bother me either. I'm probably one of the few old guys left around here that still carries a copy around of the "unwritten rules of baseball."
  5. True, but he could easily hit 150 innings this season. If he averages 6 innings (which he's done his last 3 starts) he'll be around 170 innings. And that doesn't include the playoffs or fall league. That gives him a pretty nice cushion to hit 150 innings. But you're right, he needs to focus on doing that in AA all year, just no way you bring him up to MLB when he's still in the process of stretching out his innings/season.
  6. Actually, I think Maldy will still be the back-up if Lucroy is traded. Pina and Pinto are both hitting better than Maldy. I think either would hit better than Maldy at the MBL level. I'm sure Maldy would get more starts, but I don't think he will ever be a regular starter for the Brewers or anybody.
  7. Exactly. And no reason to change that plan. I don't care if they have to bring Suppan back, Hader needs to stay in Biloxi all year. I don't really care if they want to bring him up for a start or two in September. Coin flip, but I probably wouldn't even do that.
  8. As much as I want to see this as well, I just don't think it is in the plans of the Brewers this season. We might see him come September, maybe. Hader has been struggling to get 5 IP per start. Something tells me he's not seeing Milwaukee until he gets his mechanics figured out a bit more and can throw 80-90 pitches and get into the 5th or 6th inning consistently. I think that's a bit overblown. He's gone 6 innings his past three starts in less than 90 pitches. That would be perfectly fine if he were able to do that in Milwaukee. With that said, I still don't think he should be brought up until September call-ups.
  9. Yea, Burgos or Cravy could come up. Scary thing is, it's the middle of May. 4 1/2 months of baseball to play, and they will need at least 3 more starters at some point even if they make this change. As for Peralta, I always wonder why they don't just shut a player down for a month. Just sending him down is always the reaction, but how about a mental break from the game. Go see a sports psychologist. Compare video from 2014 and today, see if anything in his mechanics different. Not sure if any or all of these things would make a difference, and no doubt they've already been doing some of this. Finally, it seems the Cardinals always seem to figure these things out and get the best out of their pitchers. That bothers me.
  10. Problem is, who in AAA "deserves" to be in the Brewers rotation? Doesn't really matter to me at this point, just asking.
  11. Package him with Flores for four more Asros prospects.
  12. Haven't seen it yet but he didn't touch it right? That's not a bogus ruling, it's the correct ruling.
  13. Rock brought it up as much as BA. They were half joking about it, I think you read a bit too much into it.
  14. Nottingham has been heating up.
  15. Exactly, and Brewers imply there's even more to the story.
  16. Phillips, less Ks more BBs this weekend PLEASE
  17. Actually, I think the age goes up to 60, seriously. I have noticed this in public places, tons of people much older than the 20s crowd are glued to their phones. In fact, women in their 30s and 40s seem to be the worst offenders in my un-scientific findings. (Including while driving.)
  18. Exactly right. It goes beyond the Braun trade too, this applies to Lucroy, Jeffress, or anyone else. As a new GM, it's important all the other teams see Stearns is not a push-over. You want teams to think of the Brewers as a team they can deal with, as long as you start with a reasonably fair offer. First thing other GMs should think about the Brewers: Anyone is for sale right now, but come to table with a realistic offer.
  19. Yea, I generally "drive with the flow" as well. In fact, in some parts of the country that could mean 80-85. (If anyone has ever driven between LA and Vegas.) But I refuse to push it in construction zones. The fines are just too high, and with my luck I would be the one pulled over- even in busy traffic. And I've learned the hard way "everyone else is doing it" doesn't get me very far ; )
  20. I heard there was no cash involved. Brewers sent them Garza, and the Rays are picking up 100% of his contract.
  21. On the subject of driving, why don't people slow down in construction zones? I've seen in in other places, but I often use 41 south so I really notice it there. In general, the traffic is moving at 75 in a 70 north of Germantown. You hit the construction zone with reduced speed limit signs, and most people continue to go 75. I don't get it, you're not willing to go more than 5 MPH over the speed limit when it's 70, but willing to go far over the speed limit in a construction zone? Where the fines are doubled? Safety aside, that just doesn't make any sense to me.
  22. Hit the ground walking really, good to see.
  23. Perez can still get plenty of starts. I just hope he gets almost all of those opportunities instead of Walsh.
