  1. I guess it depends on what numbers you want to look at, but 2014 in Brevard he had 1.86 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Better yet, last year he had 2.25 ERA and 1.15 WHIP at Biloxi. Not sure if "special" is the right word, but that's really good.
  2. Tokyo and Seoul
  3. I don't think any city is a no-brainer. Including Montreal, Portland, or Indy. First, you need ownership with deep pockets from that city, or willing to invest in that city. Next, you have the stadium issue as we all know too well. Then, you have to gauge interest in MLB. A big part of that is the business community, since that's who would be buying the suites, a lot of the season tickets., etc. Then, you have to look at how it affects near-by teams. Probably forgetting a couple other factors. Does Montreal, Portland, Indy, etc. really "want" MLB? Sometimes a smaller city really embraces it, and can be a better choice. Look what happened when MLB pushed for two teams in FL. Neither draw well, and there is really no interest in the Rays at all. Also, very real chance Oakland loses the As. Attendance has been horrible, and they are getting nowhere on a new stadium. But they do have tradition on their side, which Tampa doesn't. In my perfect world, find a way to build the As a new home in Oakland- or even the Silicon Valley. Move the Rays, so then 3 new cities would get a franchise.
  4. No way do you put the NY, Chicago, LA teams together. If they're in the same division, impossible to be a fan of both. But if one is AL, the other is NL you can be a fan of both. Sure, you still have the main team you root for but at least you can go to the other team's games and be a fan too. I know people in NY are like this, with the Jets/Giants too. I just don't think those teams would want to compete against each other in the same division. I won't comment on the DH, I would take us way off topic.
  5. Yea, I said at the time I didn't like including Wagner. Segura straight up for Diaz would have been fine, or even take on Hill's contract to sweeten the deal. But the Wagner/Anderson part of the trade bothered me, and still does. Wagner is better and 3 years younger. I get he's not THAT much better than Anderson, but he is better IMHO. As for Segura, maybe he does put it all together. If he does, good for him. No way to predict that would have happened and we'll never know if a change in scenery had a lot to do with it.
  6. For reasons passing understanding, I always forget to use Picture-in Picture on my TV. I think I've had PIP on every TV I've had for the last 25 years, but I find myself clicking back and forth between two sporting events instead of just using PIP.
  7. You can judge for yourself, but I don't think it was anything worthy of suspension: http://mediamilwaukee.com/uncategorized/bill-johnson-uwm-suspension-audio-happened
  8. The one and done guys are almost never ready. But if you had the choice of getting a check for millions of dollars, or go back for Philosophy 101 and risk getting injured, what would you do?
  9. A couple wild cards not mentioned yet- Salt Lake City or Oklahoma City?
  10. Except all other teams in the league face those same issues. So why is Brevard always horrific?
  11. Not sure why that's in blue, he would probably do better than at least two of their current starters.
  12. Exactly right. And that, to me, is a perfect example of rebuilding vs tanking. If they keep trotting these gas tanks out on a regular basis for months they are tanking. I don't think we'll see that though. Longer leash than we want? Maybe, but they will make changes.
  13. Bring up any two of Magnifico, Ross, Chapman. At this point, why the hell not?
  14. I hate to throw anyone under the bus without knowing the facts, so this is PURE speculation. Is there a coaching problem down there? Hitting is just atrocious every year. I know they play in a pitchers' park, in a pitchers' league, but that doesn't come close to explaining how bad the hitting has been for a while now.
  15. Who remembers all the comments leading up to the season about how the starting pitching "couldn't possibly be worse" than last year?
  16. Let's settle down a bit. Hate to speak for others, but MrTplush made a somewhat casual statement about Clark to make a point. I think (hope) we all know there's no reason to debate whether or not to bring up Trent Clark from extended spring training in preparation for rookie ball to start full time in CF for the Brewers.
  17. I agree with the overall premise, but there's not much of a logjam- not yet at least. As I type this, Coulter is hitting .184. He's not pressing for a promotion. And no OFs in Appleton are pressing for a promotion. Helena hasn't started the season yet, so Clark or anyone else won't be pushing anytime soon. So, if there's any logjam at all it's AA to AAA. Roache and Phillips are fine playing half a season in AA no matter how ell they hit. If one or both "need" a promotion then, well it's easy to find room for them in the Colorado OF. It's really the only reaon guys like Young are around, and they know it too. Just buying time until Phillips comes up.
  18. Score more runs than the other team. W/L record WHOAA SOLVVD
  19. I think that's exactly what they're saying. Interesting though after Flores finally had a really good night at the plate. I think each of those guys needs to start every game for 2-3 weeks before they start playing other AAAA outfielders.
  20. No, I don't think most would like to see Taylor up this year no matter what. If he does start hitting, he could be called up to AAA later this year. No reason whatsoever to promote him to MLB from AA if he has a couple hot months hitting the baseball. It just doesn't make any sense for the Brewers or Tyrone Taylor. In fact, I think we'll see Roache in AAA before Taylor.
  21. Reason would be bringing him up to play part time and burning a yr of service time in a year that doesn't matter. Only so many ABs to go around between Reed, Flores, and Niewenhuis. Brewers may feel they know what they have in Reed, want to see more of the other two (and Broxton.) Plus Reed isn't really a true MLB CF. Not saying I agree with any of that, just giving you the reasons.
  22. Interesting. With the state of their rotation, seems like having an extra bp arm isn't a bad idea.
  23. Until teams adjust when they realize this version of the Brewers wont swing at FBS at their eyes and sliders a foot low and outside. But the approach overall is great so far.
  24. Yea, the 14 yr old girl that played catch with him between innings and had a better arm.
