  1. Not to mention that the minor league guys we got in the deal are also off to great starts. Minor league GUY, but yea...
  2. That's Santana's ball, he didn't run hard to get there
  3. Brandon Diaz- toolsy OF are always fun to watch develop Carlos Luna- Dominating performance in DSL, k rate dazzling. Now if only we knew where he is and if he's healthy. Brandon Woodruff- Under the radar. Found something last year in his delivery and has quietly Benn really good ever since. A few others were mentioned above, so I won't repeat them.
  4. Unearned runs, but Anderson had plenty to do with it.
  5. Why do I anticipate terrible outings from every starter not named Jimmy Nelson?
  6. Harrison and Gatewood also coming around. Must say though, Diplan continues to be meh ever since he joined the organization. He's young, just want to see more from him if really is a top 15-20 prospect.
  7. Agreed, nor does it make sense to start the clock on Lopez. If Guerra can keep this up, yet another somewhat valuable trade chip.
  8. Honestly, that was my reaction to your post. It makes perfect sense for a company to take potential candidates for a test drive. Sounds like you were well qualified for the position, but they probably had other candidates who were just as qualified. It almost sounds like you're saying "how dare they make me do all that when I wasn't really interested anyhow." Now, if this case study involves doing any work that would compete directly against your present employer, I agree with you that's an integrity issue. But usually when companies do this, the case study is more generic in nature.
  9. Belonis quietly having a great start this season. One of the many forgotten prospects now that the system is so deep.
  10. Special is subjective I guess, but say Lopez can be #2/3 type SP. That is a valuable commodity, and worth waiting untl next year. Trot out guys like Geurra and Suter first. Now, if Lopez is dominant and we get to a point where rotation is out of options, sure bring him up. I would just rather wait until Sept if possible.
  11. I hope we don't see Lopez until next year, why start the clock on him this year?
  12. I love opening the Daily Link and seeing at least 3 of the 4 Starting Pitchers in the system I'm excited about. And later in the year it may be 4 out of 5.
  13. Absolutely, been saying that forever. Giannis and Parker's ceilings are as high as their jump shots will take them. Already saw them both have more confidence in their 3 balls at the end of the season, hopefully that carries over and gets even better. The other encouraging thing is they are both starting to draw more fouls, or better put getting the calls. They really do need to replace Monroe with an athletic center that can get out and challenge 3s, be a rim protector, play help defense, etc. (I would actually love to have TWO more guys like that, but that's asking a lot.) Finally, even if Giannis and Parker improve 3 point shooting, they still need other guys coming off the bench that can shoot. Maybe Vaughn is one, too early to tell. Bayless could be another, they need a couple guys like Bayless. Seems so often the opposing team has 7 or 8 guys that can bury a 3. That differential in 3 point shooting really killed them this year. As for the draft, I looked at several different boards, and the names are all over the place after the first two consensus picks. I still don't think they're at the point to worry about "need." Address need through trades and FA. Take best player/ highest ceiling guy.
  14. I think Thornburg needs a whole season in the pen, and prove he can stay healthy and effective for an entire season. He is young, and the option of putting him back in the rotation is always an option at some point down the road. Peralta in the pen is not a terrible idea at all. Let him just pump fastballs for an inning, maybe that is a better use of his talents.
  15. Something may be wrong with me. Seeing the first Link Report of the year is like Christmas morning. Thanks Mass and everyone else who contributes!
  16. Now that I see all the rosters, I do agree there's a lot of conservative assignments throughout the system.
  17. Good points. All games would need to be night games. I don't think attendance matters, we're only talking about one interim season. They would need a new, permanent home in 2018.
  18. Isn't Maryvale used practically year round for Extended ST, Instructional League, Rookie League, and Arizona Fall League? I don't think the logistics of all that would work out. Same thing for every other ST facility. But they have multiple fields they use for that. Just like in ST, the other fields are still being used during games. Or, worst case scenario, just schedule accordingly for when AAA team has home games. All other dates can be used, and even on game nights the field could be used all day long.
  19. Can I ask what is sure to be a stupid question? Why can't they play in Maryvale until they have an acceptable, permanent home for AAA? Or even one of the other ST parks in the Phoenix area?
