  1. His pitch count is up to 72 - might not make it! We are treating this rare occorance like we may never see it again in our generation. Pitch count does not exist...he is in there till he loses his quality game chance. Kerry Wood. Mark Prior. Stephen Strasburg. Wily Peralta. Pitch count does not exist. This is like game 7 of the WS for him.
  2. Peralta is capable of a great outing on any given day. Maybe today is that day! Wait....sorry...thought this was the Positive thread.
  3. Yea, I also had issues with that trade. Stearns made a lot of moves, he won't come out on top on a lot of them. I just thought Rogers is a guy who can flat out hit, and could have been a nice bridge from rebuilding to competing, and could have been traded at any time over the next 6 years (and for more than Broxton/Supak.) I didn't like giving up Wagner or Sneed either, but the Rogers trade is the only one I had a real problem with, still do.
  4. Lucroy or Flores. Although I'm not sure if Flores has logged any innings at 1B yet this year.
  5. Sorry to go OT, but I take that stuff with a grain of salt. The "other Brett" in attendance was also always seen as a great guy- until we found out more. I'm sure Mav is great young man, but we never really know. So I try not to get attached to players personally.
  6. Interesting, thanks. Always wondered how he could have so much success with a k rate so low.
  7. Right. This is what always seems to get lost in the shuffle. Yes, production at CF and 3B is horrific, but replace those positions with (arguably) a slightly higher WAR, what does that get you? 2 or 3 more wins? Just doesn't matter this year. With that said, if they want to bring up Reed to see if he can play CF, I'm fine with that. Sure, starting his clock maybe a year early, but he's a guy who wouldn't cost very much as a 4th OF down the road in his arby years and beyond.
  8. They haven't made final decision on Broxton based on 20 plate appearances. He had options, so you send him down and see if he can get on track. Doesn't mean they've given up on him. Same thing they did with Scooter last year. Really nothing to lose by sending him down and see if he can get his confidence back. This was always an experiment to see if Broxton, Liriano, Flores, Niewenhaus, Villar, Walsh, etc. could be part of the future, or traded at the deadline. We knew if one or two of these guys panned out it would be a success.
  9. That Tomlinson pic is like getting your fourth ace on the river card. It is the Trump card. Also, while no yellow, Carolina and Clippers look good, not to mention the old Houston Oilers. Like any uniform, it just has to be done right.
  10. Followed by 3 pitch strikeout by Flores. 6 more months of that...
  11. Also, doesn't matter what pitcher or defense does if you keep scoring zero runs.
  12. What happened to Coulter? Taken out of game early?
  13. You think the best prospect in our system is a left-handed Mike Fiers? Cool, maybe Astros think so too. Let's trade Suter and Broxton for 4 more top Astros prospects.
  14. Also, teams are used to a Brewers team that swings at fastballs eyebrow high, and sliders in the dirt a foot outside. Once advance scouting catches up, we'll probably see walk rate go down, but hopefully batting avg goes up. Other positive news, safe to say Braun hasn't lost power due to not having peds, bad thumb, back, or anything else.
  15. I do agree with Rock. Opponents are so used to Brewers swinging at crap, big adjustment.
  16. Exactly, Reed isn't a CF, at least in the eyes of the Brewers. I think they're playing it the right way. Giving all the young guys some chances to see what they can do. That was the plan from the beginning, and no reason to change that after 9 games. No prospects are being blocked, there's no push for the playoffs, so just let these guys play and see what they can do. Now, if Broxton (or any other player) is just completely lost, yes at some point it's in his best interest to send him down.
  17. Is it a bit more hitter friendly than Brevard though? Not hoping for a launching pad or anything, I just like the minor league parks to be as neutral as possible.
