  1. I pay somewhat close attention to college football, and I had no idea OJ Mayo ad a bowl game. Even more shocked mayo is what he puts in his bowl these days.
  2. He's also much better finishing at the rim. If he can shoot 40%ish from 3 and score at the rim, it's definitely a blessing in disguise that trade didn't go through.
  3. Now I want a Culvers double cheddar bacon burger, thanks a lot.
  4. If you ignore the media, how do you get your news? Just word of mouth? I think the key is to use a lot of different sources, not just ignore it. Unfortunately, you really have to dig deep these days because Google really tries hard to hide a different view of anything Covid related.
  5. Christian Wood has been dumped repeatedly by several NBA teams and other leagues. Talent was always there, but there's a reason he was always run out of town. Good for him if he matured now, or whatever, but it doesn't mean the Bucks made a mistake.
  6. Ok, that makes sense. Yea, that scenario is typical for tech/ biotech, but pretty rare to see it anywhere else in the private sector.
  7. This is just a step towards the inevitable 18 game schedule. Guessing next year there will be 3 pre-season games, then only 2 when they go to 18 games. Interested to see if they go to two bye weeks next year, there should be 2 byes already. Curious if the Love pick had anything to do with this, because playing Rodgers for 18 full games plus playoff games is, well, a lot. If Love is ready to play next year, or the following year for sure, they could make decisions like playing Rodgers only a half, or not at all, vs say the Bungles or the Lions.
  8. I believe most schools require Personal Finance these days to graduate. I am biased since I teach personal finance but it is incredibly valuable. Good for you! I took that class in HS, but I didn't pay too much attention to anything that year other than girls and beer. Some of it must have sunk in though. One of the things I would like t do in retirement is be a "life coach" if there's any non-profit out there that provides that sort of service. I'm done preaching this to my children for the most part, they're adults. But I would love o help others who are ready to change and need help. We all have family/friends where you think (or say) what are you doing!?! Something as small as paying $3 to get $20 from an ATM or paying delivery fees and tip to get Noodles from Uber Eats. To bigger things like always, always, always pay-off your CC in full every month. Don't buy more house/car than you can afford, etc. If your employer offers 401k match, that's called free money! It's frustrating because most of this stuff is common sense. I also believe many people inherently know a lot of this, but it's no fun to say no. I want the newest Iphone, I want to eat out every day, I want that new car, I want Starbucks every day, etc.
  9. I'm glad signing Jones isn't even an option. Removes the temptation to sign him if they had the cap space. RB is the easiest position to replace, and replace immediately. If they did have space, I would much rather use it on defense.
  10. That's actually pretty unusual that a private company's retirement package is superior to public sector. Do you get a pension as well, besides the plan you contribute to yourself?
  11. I'm more concerned about Covid derailing the Packers charge to the SB than the Bears, #1 seed, or anything else.
  12. Never expected this defense would be great, just hoped they would develop into being good enough to win the chip. Still not convinced, but they MAY be good enough. Gary and Savage coming on strong has been the difference.
  13. Hope that one point doesn't come back to haunt us. I just hate chasing the missed extra point. Take every point you can get until the middle of the 4th quarter, then see where you are. Math is on your side.
  14. I think they have figured out how to play together.
  15. If you are not going to be making a big purchase any time soon like a car or a house then this is of little concern. Or if you plan to purchase auto insurance, change jobs, etc. And your credit score isn't something you can quickly change when you do want a loan. Just sayiing, something to keep in mind.
  16. Your credit score is affected by opening and closing accounts, so do a little research on that. Not worth messing up your credit score for a free flight.
  17. If Augustine had Connaugton's minutes last night they win. Against a really good Celtics team that played about as well as they can. Not bad for a team that's a work in progress.
  18. I'm a YTTV guy, and I don't know what to do. Main reason I have any package at all is for sports, I wouldn't even have YTTV or cable otherwise. Plenty of content on Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Hulu. Plan A, try to use FoxSports Go using my parent Spectrum login. That really SHOULD work, if not Plan B is going back to Spectrum, at least I'll have the promotional rate for a year which isn't that much more than YTTV- especially since the internet cost will go down a little by packaging. That will buy me a year, and then we'll see what the landscape looks like. I really don't wan to go back to Spectrum, but yea, I'm not missing a whole season of Bucks/ Brewers. NBA/NFL really should have had this built into the contract somehow. Like the NFL does with ESPN and NFL Network games, it's still available on a local channel. These other leagues could have negotiated some sort of clause to avoid this. And now they need to fix it. Finally, I would think an easy temporary solution would be for YTTV/Hulu to just charge a monthly fee of $5.99 for the RSN, like they do with lots of other channels/packages. Why would Sinclair want to pass up the revenue, and why would YTTV want to lose subscriptions when this seems to be a pretty simple solution?
  19. I don't see the evidence of less innovation? Most innovation doesn't require intensive capital. Also, the venture capital world world is as much about competition as it is dollars, I've seen it first hand. These people are absolutely not afraid to take risks on innovation, they want their name attached to the next big thing. I'm not seeing where opportunities are being missed.
  20. A year or two is too long to have that money sitting on the sidelines. Bitcoin or anything volatile? No. But there's plenty of "safe" stocks that will yield 2-3% in dividends, and if the stocks go up even a little you'll get a total return of 5-7%. Even if you're not comfortable with an individual stock, get an ETF that maximizes dividends.
  21. You're completely out of touch. I work a government job and our org has seen a 10% cut this year. Lost headcount. Extra work for everyone. We haven't seen a penny of any of these stimulus bills. The majority of this country is paycheck-to-paycheck. This country would be better off as a whole if the stock market was doing worse and that wealth was going to small businesses and hourly workers. Well, no. If the stock market was doing worse, that would mean even more layoffs. How would the wealth magically "go to small business and hourly workers?" Majority of the country is living paycheck to paycheck, yes, with freedom comes the freedom to make bad choices. Also, if you have a government job, will you be getting a pension? Where do you think that comes from??? That's right, the stock market.
  22. I'm with turbo on this one. Maybe because we're from the same generation? Just turn on the TV and click to 31..and the Brewers! Also my eclectic taste in sports, so the niche channels offered get utilized often. yup, I'm 55. You do realize this is how YouTube TV worked until now, but at less than half that price? Also, Spectrum isn't immune to this nonsense. Remember when Spectrum (Time Warner actually, at the time) was in dispute with the local Fox stations? That happened more than once at the start of the NFL season, one year it last quite a while. I still have the antenna I had to buy to watch Packer games.
  23. Oh cry me a river. If they're not investing, it's likely their own fault. And they would be suffering even worse without a booming stock market.
  24. Everything s a matter of taste, there is no right or wrong. Except for McRib. If you like McRib, you're just wrong. Makes me want to smoke some ribs and deliver them to any of you who like McRib.
  25. It's not necessary to have that 60% rule, or any rule. No HOF has any specific criteria, that's why there's a vote. Every case is different, and lots of factors could come into play.
