  1. Bickford will be interesting to watch this spring.
  2. I witnessed the distribution of the vaccine from Walgreens for my parents mixed-use facility. They were extremely efficient in how everything was arranged in advanced and then executed on the days they gave the vaccinations. They were actually done ahead of schedule each day, despite residents adding themselves at the last minute. Nothing ever gets done ahead of schedule in anything elder-care related. My guess is there's a blind spot in the system for the elderly that still live at home, especially those that don't have family members that can help them set an appt. That's where the focus should be right now, outreach to those falling through the cracks.
  3. LeBron and Curry are triple threats, Giannis is not. That's the problem, Giannis should never ever start the offensive possession pounding the ball at the top of the key. He's doing less of that this season, but it's still too much of that. Wall is built, Giannis thinks about putting up a 3, driving, or passing. Just a horrible way to start the offensive set. Move the ball around first, and you'll get Giannis in better positions to do some damage. That's on Bud, it' so obvious as you watch the games how much better they are this way. As far as finishing games, without a 3 ball in his arsenal, Giannis simply can not be a closer consistently. But if he can be around 75-80% at the line that will definitely help at the end of games.
  4. Odd contract, only two years. This tells me the Packers and other teams didn't want to spend a ton on a signing bonus for him, not really even about the cap.I'm not upset, Watt would have been a gamble. Yea, it would have been fun but I see why they didn't want to pay a huge signing bonus for him.
  5. Sorry, no, when I said 3 year deal I meant in reality thats what it ends up being. Officially it would be like 5 yrs/100MM with 25MM bonus. But a huge chunk of the 75MM salary is backloaded in years 4 and 5, never paid. Watt wins because he gets $25MM up front, Packers win because cap is very manageable the first 2 years. Very similar to what they did with Za'Darius but Watt probably demands a higher signing bonus.
  6. Sure, they really can sign pretty much anyone and make it work...some just start getting more and more unrealistic. When I first hear 15-16 for JJ, I guess I was thinking a 2-3 year type deal, but he's just 31, so you're right. No reason it has to be that short. I definitely wouldn't do 5/100, but 4/64? I think that'd really be worth it. It would be a 3 yr deal. The last two years are window dressing, and will never happen.
  7. Chicago deep dish pizza isn't really even pizza. It's good once every couple years though.
  8. They could definitely offer a deal for Watt even more lucrative than the Za'Darius Smith deal. Za'Darius 1st year cap hit was only $7MM. That's why this $15MM/yr for Watt thing is so meaningless. Packers could do $20MM/year for Watt just fine. 5 yrs/ $100MM incl a $25MM signing bonus. No clue if that would be enough, or if I even agree with that, but they COULD do it. That would mean Watt's first year cap hit could be only $6-$7 MM depending what salary they added to the $5MM signing bonus allocated to to 2021. They still need to extend Adams and/or Rodgers to sign Watt or anyone else. It's not that simple though, or it would have been done by now. And actually, speaking of Za'Darius Smith, he's another candidate for contract extension. His cap hit this year will be $21.5MM, but if they re-work his contract and convert his salary for this year into a signing bonus, they could free up probably $10MM or so.
  9. If you have family or friends willing to give you their Spectrum login, you can stream Foxsportsgo for free. That's been working perfectly for Bucks games. So I've heard.
  10. Has anyone seen an article that walks through what extensions for Rodgers and Adams would look like, and how much that would potentially lower the team cap for 2021? Seems like that would be better use of the Packers beat writers time, rather than tell us Linsley isn't likely to return. Something we've all known for weeks if not months.
  11. Yea, I'm a thin crust, Milwaukee style pizza kind of guy. Norhing else is close, except Rockys. I don't know what it is, the doughy crust, love the sauce. Woyld have it more often if ir didn't have 197,000 calories in a super slice.
  12. Children are resilient. The population at risk for cold/flu are the same people most at risk for Covid. Elderly, people with compromised immune systems, respiratory issues, etc. Many in the medical community have been warning about this.
  13. I remember, and I agree. Bud should have been replaced after last season. My philosophy on head coaches in pro sports is when in doubt, move on. Not wait another year, or two, or three to see what happens. Especially in the NBA. Even Skiles, Kidd...most of them were successful the first year and looked promising. But once things aren't right it can turn bad pretty quickly.
  14. I'm sure it can't be easy for some, but embracing the old character you're famous for is probably healthy. The actors who really struggle emotionally seem to be the ones who run from what they're famous for.
  15. A lot of people don't like season 2, fwiw. Mostly due to one of the characters. Just a heads-up, hang in there just in case you don't love season 2 quite as much. It took a whopping half an episode to figure out who you were referring to.... Ha, yea it's pretty obvious. Too bad, because the theme of the season is as strong as the other seasons. Still better than 95% of anything else on TV. P.S.. You think you hate that character now, it gets worse.
  16. Or when they traded a 1st round pick for a 3rd string head case from the Falcons. We can all have opinions about Love, but we have no clue. They thought enough of him to trade up to get him, so obviously they believe in him. I'll choose to trust that decision until proven otherwise. With a 17 game season, I can see Love getting some opportunities this year- even if Rodgers is healthy all year. Rodgers is coming off an 18 game season, then potentially 21 games? Would not surprise me if they used Love like a relief pitcher at times, just to take some mileage off Rodgers.
  17. Think Brewers. They want a FA, let's say a 3B. They offer a competitive deal, but all it takes is one team with a better offer. So the Packers would want Linsley, Jones, Watt, a LB, and CB in Free Agency. They will be lucky to get one of those.
  18. A lot of people don't like season 2, fwiw. Mostly due to one of the characters. Just a heads-up, hang in there just in case you don't love season 2 quite as much.
  19. NFL salary cap is yet another thing where people seem to take extreme positions. Either it's some inpenetrable hard cap that you can't around, or it's somewhat easy to manipulate to get done whatever you want to get done. As with most things, the truth lies in the middle. First, as Chorizo explained, it's really hard to take a strong position on anything since we don't even know what the cap looks like for 2021. Secondly, yes, they can make moves to free up cap space. Bak was easy, that was the plan back when they signed his extension originally. P Smith and Kearsy getting cut are pretty easy decisions. Beyond that, the Packers are not entirely in control. It's not as easy as "just extend Rodgers and Adams." The players have to agree to those terms. It will take huge signing bonuses to extend Rodgers and Adams, and the players involved will have a large say on the definition of huge. Assuming they can restructure both, which is far from a given, that's about it. There are no more magic moves they can make to free up cap space of any significance. That leaves a lot of "ifs" if the goal is signing Watt. They can sign him IF the salary cap doesn't go down much this year, and IF they can restructure Rodgers/Adams, and then IF Watt actually want to come to GB, and at what cost. Not impossible by any means, but the dominoes need to fall right.
  20. Yes, Jrue's been out. Bench is weak, which is great because that may force Bud not to use it in the playoffs. Portis and Forbes are the only guys off the bench who should get minutes in the playoffs. Maybe Craig for a few minutes here and there. Connaughton and Augustin should never see the floor. Then they need one more guy, an athletic big who can eat some minutes. Preferably someone to replace Lopez, but I don't see how they could pull that off. So next best thing is any big who can play some defense, get boards, etc. off the bench. Any offense would be a plus. Not sure if that's enough to get it done this year, but not much else they can do.
  21. Just not true. Philly literally lined him up at DT regularly because every football coach knows that a player generating pressure up the middle is more valuable and disruptive than an end. He played on the end in GB due to their personnel and system, but he was every bit an interior lineman. Yes, THAT is definitely true, he did play DT at times for Philly. If we're talking about Reggie as a Packer though, 100% DE.
  22. You're confusing DE in a 4-3 with DE in today's 3-4. Back then, there was no such thing as the edge rusher. Saying he was effective playing the run has nothing to do with position. Back then, stopping the run first was everybody's job. Watch a few YouTube videos or something. He was not an interior lineman. Opposing team's RT blocked him, usually with the help of the TE. Sean Jones? He played tge same position as Reggie, on the opposite side of the line. Santana Dotson has spoken often about their defense back then, how Reggie sealed the corner so well. If Reggie wasn't a DE, then nobody was.
  23. Reggie White was a DE. Both in name and responsibility. Otherwise, you're telling me the Packers played 4 DTs and no DEs? Reggie was an edge rusher. Yes, he used the bull rush a lot, so what? Does that make Gary a DT too by that logic? Reggie played the definition of a 4-3 DE, I don't really understand how that's even a debate.
  24. I realllly wanted to like The Expanse. 4k is stunning, and I'm always up for a good sci-fi series. But I got through 2 episodes, and I just couldn't continue. Acting/ casting was just too corny, they couldn't hold up to the writing, which seems like a really interesting story. Hard to explain, almost like sci-fi made for network tv or something.
  25. That is a laughable trade offer for TJ. You have to get closer to what Mack cost for the Steelers to do that trade. Laughable, maybe. I just through something out there, admittedly didn’t think about it much. So 2 1st rounders, especially since they would be at the end of the 1st. And some change. Also, the Bears panicked because they knew the Packers were interested. How about 2021 1st, 2022 2nd, and Jordan Love?
