  1. I think there was a reason to at least be slightly optimistic. First, this isn't TT anymore. They're willing to make moves like this now. Likely, the problem was the Packers couldn't fit him under the cap if they traded for him. If he had become a FA, I would say the chances were pretty high the Packers would have signed him. When you trade, you just have a lot less flexibility- you're dealing with the current contract. Too bad, would have been nice, but hey we got Rasul Douglas off the Cardinals' PS.
  2. Better yet, he was released by the Patriots. Picking him up would definitely move the needle for the Packers.
  3. Interesting. I guess I don't really care if he can play a CF type safety position on obvious passing downs. Question is when can he play corner without a brace. If the answer is by the end of the regular season, I'm fine.
  4. De'Vondre Campbell is probably top 5, as crazy as that is to say out loud. He's controlled the middle of the field better than any ILB in recent memory, way better actually.
  5. Rodgers, Jaire, Adams are my top 3. After that quite a debate who the other 2 would be.
  6. True, yet they've been able to win without the first two (and Jenkins who would be a top 10.) That said, hard to imagine how they are true contender without Jaire. I'm sure GM Rodgers will swing a trade for a really good corner.
  7. Except a college degree = functioning adult has not been my experience. What it DOES tell me is at least this person has completed something they started. It does tell me that. Back to the concept of experiencing different people and cultures, since a couple people have mentioned this. Seems like more of romantic view of college in the 1950s to be honest. Don't get me wrong, if you're from a small town in northern WI or from Milwaukee's inner-city you can go to UW-Madison and expand your horizons. You can also do that by going to a tech school, joining the military, or directly entering the job force. In fact, probably more likely.
  8. I'll say it, I like Campbell. Brings some energy, toughness, and isn't bad in coverage.
  9. Somewhere a Fantasy owner is smiling when his opponent was laughing. Unless that fantasy owner is me, and started Smith-Schuster instead of Cobb.
  10. Thought so too until that last camera angle. Watt definitely tripped him intentionally or not. By the way, aren't most penalties unintentional?
  11. Way too late by Watt, at least he didn't light Rodgers up.
  12. I honestly think that happened. Huge break. Makes up for the little push on Jaire, I guess. I honestly think that's what happened too. So you have a play with a 10 point swing that can't be reviewed.
  13. Without a look right down the line there is no way to tell. That over head shot from behind is really misleading. Really doesn't matter in this case. Overhead view shows they weren't lined up in neutral zone. Ball moves, then they move. That said, it's odd there's no camera down the line. Also another example of why NFL replay/ review system is horrible.
  14. I dont think they were offsides.
  15. That’s what I always thought. I couldn’t tell on the second one but the first sure looked like he was back onside before the ball was snapped. It didn’t matter as that was the TD though. I know on the first one when he crossed the line the RT flinched, so that would be an offsides even if he got back. the 2nd one shouldn't have been, but ultimately didn't matter. Awww.. didn’t catch the jump. That makes sense. When the OL jumped they play should have been called dead shouldn’t it? No, because it's not a false start penalty its offsides.
  16. If you jump, and the offense moves, that's technically an offsides, I think. It doesn't result in a dead-ball. Again, I think so. Not 100% sure. True, if the offense moves as a reaction. That has evolved into the OL moving 2 seconds later and still gets the call.
  17. If Hiura looks like he has a clue at the plate, I would probably have him on the NLDS roster over JBJ.
  18. How insane would it be if Keston comes up & somehow the light comes back on & he hits like the 2018 version & maybe even gets some big postseason knocks. It's probably about the same odds as the Cardinals winning 17 in a row, but we literally just saw that happen, so who knows. It's possible, I mean Arcia was Mr. October in past seasons.
  19. How we feel has no effect on what happened. Yes, I went through the 7 levels of grief, but it only took me an hour or two. Obviously it was stupid, we all know that. He knows that. So why dwell on it? He didn't hurt anyone, break any laws, cause problems in the clubhouse, etc. Sorry, I'm just not going to view him as a super-villian.
  20. If they went for 3 in the first half, Crosby's FG at the end of the game wouldn't matter.
  21. Ok stop them here and let there be a moratorium on crappy defense talk for one week.
  22. So the penalty with the most emphasis in the league today, not called on an obvious one. In 2021, how do they not have a ref or two in the booth watching monitors and throwing a virtual flag.
  23. No, but played very good in the 1st half. Gave up 0 points if the obvious grounding was called. Now we'll see if they're good enough at the end.
  24. Just lazy officiating. If a db doesn't turn to look at the ball, automatic PI. That's not the rule, but it may as well be.
  25. That's been Packers blitz package for years. New DC, same result.
