  1. No kidding. But that has nothing to do with whether it was the right call at the time.
  2. And he's almost always right, including tonight. Just one more game I'm blessed to have CC running the team rather than the bf.net consensus.
  3. Vs RHP: Taylor .730 Yelich .759 For some reason splits are still always ignored. Taylor absolutely should start vs LHP, but Yelich is still better vs RHP if we're looking at the numbers.
  4. When you look at how poorly they've drafted the front 7 over the last decade, that's hard to do if you tried.
  5. Do you really believe if the starters played a couple quarters of preseason here and there it would have made a difference? Sorry, I don't.
  6. Well, they obviously weren't ready to play today. I don't know what else it could be? Could be anything. Absolutely rolled by the Bucs last year in a game they should have been "up" for. There's always games like this. Or, they're just bad.
  7. I know this is the popular narrative, but there's no evidence playing a few quarters of preseason helps prepare for the season. I've heard plenty of players say practice is when they get far more done than preseason games.
  8. And it's a full circle. When the defense can't get off the field, it limits the possessions on offense. This was essentially the Packers for 20 years in the 70s/80s.
  9. True, we should be more excited when they hit for the cycle as a team too.
  10. I do. How do I attach it here or send it to you. I tried to attach it but it says the file is too big. Haha, yea I had the same problem. That's ok, 8 didn't last long!
  11. I do think this is a big part of it. Playoffs? Nothing new anymore. World Series on the other hand...
  12. Trendy, yes. That's what real buzz is, when casual fans or even non-fans become interested and jump on the bandwagon. That's what happened during the last couple playoff runs. Everyone's talking about attendance, but it's more than that. Like I said, that will probably change after they start winning in the playoffs, but it's just not there yet.
  13. Almost nobody is selling out right now. Yup. Brewers are currently 10th in average attendance... https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance And? How does that disprove my point? Most teams have worse attendance? Badgers were sold out week 1, Bucks were sold out with thousands of people outside. And everyone was talking about them. That's buzz. Maybe, probably, that will build as the Brewers march through the playoffs but it's not there now.
  14. This team doesn’t have the buzz? Maybe I’m missing something… This is literally the best pitching 1-13 this team has ever assembled. Scoring runs at a very good clip. Playing very good defense besides Urias. None of that has anything to do with buzz. They can't even sell-out a game. There's not the excitement we had last couple playoff runs, there's just not.
  15. ****Special request. Who has photo of Marques Johnson from victory parade?
  16. What about the fans? This team does not have the buzz it should, if the game is still for the fans, a true no-hitter may have energized the dormant fans. Until someone can show me the science that 130 pitches greatly increases chances of injury in one outing vs 115, this is really disappointing.
  17. Sorry, this sucks. Going 130 pitches every outing? Sure, bad idea. But one time? I'll take the risk/ reward.
  18. I agree. Not sure how I would define it exactly, but I think Winston has a really good season.
  19. I don't think they will ever be at 100% unless they took 6 weeks off, and you don't want to do that.
  20. Recruiting, scheme, and coaching on the offensive side of the ball all appear to be a problem. Would Mertz be better with those three areas improved? Honestly don't know.
  21. I see where you're going with this, but no way do you deal those guys unless you're blown away by an offer. How soon we forget how many decades we struggled to find a quality, controllable SP or two. 1) They are cheap, even in their arby years. 2) Ashby or anyone else are far from sure things. 3) Woodruff is getting a little older, plus he may move on. So could Burnes. 4) There's always the injury bug. Lose 1 or 2 SP and you have AAAA guys to take their place. 5) Both have flashed their ceilings. If they continue to develop, even a bigger bargain. Just no way I deal our #4,5 rotation guys under those circumstances. Actually, if anything, I would consider selling high on Woodruff if the return was huge- which it should be.
  22. Coach Cooper used to always say "If you hurt yourself running the bases, just keep running all the way home." We didn't know what he meant, but rarely did.
