  1. Do not forget Cain. I think this extra rest is extremely beneficial, but especially to both Cain and Aguilar. Yea, I didn't mention him because Cain is Cain. He'll do his thing regardless of LHP/RHP. I expect both Cain and Yelich to be on base plenty, with big pressure on Braun/ Aguilar to get them home.
  2. Yea, even though I knew it already it is more clear every day that Braun/Aguilar are the key to this series.
  3. Sorry, just realized how that sounded. Wasn't suggesting you're not For me, personally, I just don't see anything good coming from reaching out- even if it's just to say "hi, hope you're doing well" or whatever. Then again, she was a bit of a psycho which makes it an easy decision.
  4. Must be common, because honest to God I had that dream this week. Got me thinking the next day about other girls from my miss-spent youth (I'm an '84 grad.) Being married, no way do I have an urge to contact them- even for purely harmless reasons.
  5. How are players let off contracts? Asking for a friend. Thanks, Baltimore Orioles
  6. Stearns may not necessarily want to stay in Milwaukee long term. He's a very young guy, and may very well want to move on the Mets or somewhere else. It's a matter of if, not when, it's not like he's going to be with the Brewers for 40 years. I'm putting that far down my worry list for now.
  7. Ballsy yes, but not smart. You're at the mercy of where the ref spots the ball, and no way is it a good idea to take a risk like that when you're winning the game with under two minutes. Practically giving it to them in FG range to win the game if you don't make it. Horrible risk/reward there. One thing I think will change, going for it on 4th down all the time when you're in FG range in the 1st half. I can see a team(s) going for it far more often.
  8. Seems to be very common these days. Why couldn't this have been "a thing" back when I graduated!?!? Were your parents multi-billionaires? haha. I really don't blame people in their situations from not working. I mean, I wish I didn't have to and could just see the world and enjoy myself so I'm not going to judge them. However, that likely means one isn't competent/experienced enough to take over the family business. Of course they could do this for a while and then settle in just fine as a mature adult in the next few years and do just fine taking things over. Who knows. Watch the TV show Succession on the topic I know quite a few kids who are doing this, and they're far from billionaires. They find odd jobs here and there as they travel, teach English, etc.

  10. No, he's not. I think the key is how Davies and Anderson feel about getting left out of the home stretch and the playoffs. They're being good teammates, which is great, but we don't know how they feel. Once the dust settles, if one of them really wants to move on, then the Brewers have to at least take that into account. If they're "fine" then I don't see them trade, simply because the return wouldn't be enough to move them. You need that depth, especially depth at a reasonable salary.
  11. The kids taking over the company, that always works.
  12. This team is very hard to predict. Ceiling is Eastern Conf Champs, floor is about what they were last year. Biggest weakness last year was rebounding and Lopez/Irsan will help with that. Complicated (stupid) defense is gone, so that should be an automatic improvement. On offense, not sure their 3 point % will go up, but they'll definitely make a lot more of them due to increased attempts. That will open up the court for Giannis. Very curious to see the rotation Coach Bud uses. With Giannis, Lopez, Irsan, Henson, Maker, Wood I would like to see them go big more often. The guard rotation really doesn't impress me, and I would rather have another big on the floor more often.
  13. I agree. It really only takes the initial handful of fans, and that somehow makes it feel acceptable for everyone else to follow suit.
  14. Good points. I don't see them using the full bullpen game more than once. If you use up the Frosty Boys in these bullpen games, they're not available in the others. I think we'll see a traditional starter in all the games, maybe one of them they go all bullpen depending on rest, when the next off day lands, etc. BUT, I think the key is they will limit the starts to twice through the lineup then go the pen where nobody will face the lineup more than once. So ideally you can get 5 innings from the starter, then several guys can give you the next 2 and turn it over to the Frosty Boys. I think that will be the strategy, rather than having the "full on" bullpen games.
  15. Possibly, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Neither has pitched in a while, so they need to keep everyone sharp in case they're needed at some point. I'm sure they've done the same with Anderson, Williams, Barnes, etc.
  16. I cant remember the last time the Brewers have even tried to steal a base, other than situations where its just been gifted to them.
  17. Ever been on a cruise? This gives me horrible flashbacks to pool deck chair saving.
  18. Chase Anderson was the opening day starter, hasn't been pitching poorly yet not only is he not on the 25, literally nobody is suggesting he should be. I've seen several other name come up, but not his. So we have a pretty good starting pitcher who's around #30 on the roster, really crazy to think about.
  19. Why do you say that, just curious? It's the way they've won games all year, and there's not going to be an offensive explosion in this series. I see no reason why they can't win four games 2-1, 3-2, etc. It's who they are.
  20. Tempting to consider dropping Schoop for Thames. Its not logical, its a hunch Thames can come through. Seven game series, one backup ss is fine. Will they do that? I highly doubt it. Cedeno for either Peralta/Guerra is likely the move they make. I dont like it, Cedeno is not reaaly a loogy anyhow. I would rather have the pitching staff they have currently. Hader, Burnes, and Knebel are plenty nasty vs LH. Gonzalez can be used out of the pen too. Seems like Cedeno would be a good move until you really take a closer look. If you dont believe me, picture a critical AB in game 7 and you can have Knebel or Cedeno face Bellinger. Who do you want? Exactly.
  21. I did the same for a while, but not blocking anymore. Why? Its comedy gold. Game 1, as JJ is struggling. "Hes rusty, no wonde hes blowing it." Game 3. " Stupid stupidhead using JJ in a 6-0 game! I mean, you cant make this stuff up. Ges rusty ane overused at the same time. To this day people are on CC about starting Kratz. Perez, etc. Seemingly every pitching change. Then CC proves them wrong over and over and over again. Its just too much fun to miss. Its like some people really believe they know more about how/when to use players than the coaches and training staff. So dont block, include it as part of the fun.
  22. Wow. Just curious if this team gave you a ton of joy, and post season can't change that then why not watch? You cant be dissapointed, and the upside is even more fun!
  23. Great post. No doubt Ive been nervous until the last out of every game for the last couple weeks. But I dont get the constant "theyre going to blow this one" whenever a pitching change is made or a runner gets on base. Never a lineup posted without second guessing, and predictably that player ends up having a big game. Its ok to be gut wrenchingly nervous and enjoy the game at the same time. I just cant be one to constantly look for the negative, and go so far as to invent a negative that doesnt exist. How can that be enjoyable?
