  1. In a 1 run game you get Ax up and ready to throw at the first sign of trouble. He was coming in in the 9th anyways unless the BRewers scored a bunch of runs in the bottom of the 9th. RRR should not be pitching Loe against a lefty, especially one like VOtto who has hit Loe as well as he has. That is what RRR is paid to do. Anticipate. Would you have Ax up every time? No. But in this situation you have him ready to go so you can avoid putting Loe in that situation.
  2. Loe's numbers vs. Votto 3 for 6 2 HR's He shouldn't have been pitching to him. Ax should have been warming in case the situation got out of control. He was coming in unless the Crew scored 4 in the 9th. The fact that managers are stuck in the closers only in the 9th mentality is dumb. You put in your key guy when the situation warrants it.
  3. As uplifting as some of those wins were on the homestand this loss really hurts.
  4. RRR and most MLB Managers are idiots and don't understand the lunacy of this thinking.
  5. Agreed. The closer only pitches the 9th thing is so dumb especially given Loe's stats against Votto.
  6. If Yo has a great June we could throw him in there as well as a possibility. Had a bad 4 or 5 game stretch stretch but has been lights out the rest of the season. I don't think he will make it, but if he continues dominating he could deserve a nod.
  7. This exchange between Uke and Corey about staying at his post is one of the best I have heard in a while. Sometimes not being able to watch the games is a great thing. Anyone else listening?
  8. Agreed. It was the walks that killed him and the Reds took just about every count to 3 balls.
  9. He posted an OPS over 800 once in his 5 years in the minors and that was in his first year of winter ball. He suddenly comes out of no where the second half of 2010 and for 2011. It isn't hate; the numbers just suggest what we are seeing now is more of the real Casey McGehee. So 1000 PA's is a fluke? His career minor league OPS was .741 which would have ranked 11th last year, not amazing, but solid. If this is the "real" Casey McGehee neither the minors or majors have ever seen the "real" McGehee.
  10. McGehee has ranked 7th in OPS amongst all 3rd basemen in MLB in 2009 and 2010 over almost 1000 Pa's and was solid in the minor leagues. I know the guy looks like rolly polly personified but I don't understand the hate.
  11. Yea baby! So McGehee has been surprisingly bad and Lucroy has been surprisingly good. He should get some serious AS consideration.
  12. Well that is about as good of a outcome as we could have hoped for. Maybe that jolts him and he can do a quick 5th and 6th. (Being optimistic here).
  13. Jeez. Really needed a long outing by Greinke. This is brutal.
  14. Blasphemy!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Agreed. Not an awesome way to end my Memorial Day Weekend. Should have assumed it would go this way I suppose.
  16. Pathetic. Same old team on the road. I don't get it at all.
  17. Braun's problem is and always will be he takes bad routes to balls and gets bad jumps. This has improved somewhat over time, but he is still below average. His athleticism allows him to overcome this and he has a decent arm, but that only helps so much. That being said, he isn't as bad as he used to be and I think he does just fine out there especially with Gomez and Morgan able to cover up for him somewhat.
  18. Great win, great homestand. Let's take this team on the road. This is exactly how I envisioned this team this year.
  19. Not much of a issue I suppose, but Hawkins seems an odd choice in what is basically mop up mode.
  20. 1. I think they have a wrist band on the forearm or wrist and wipes the sweat out of the helmet with it. It just looks like he is shoving his elbow in. That's my thought at least. 2. I've wondered the same thing.
