  1. Good thing we lost Mitre so that we can keep Mark Kotsay's .587 OPS around.
  2. Agreed. Really want to know if this is RRR or the players. Can't help to think its RRR. That wasn't even close and I feel like even McGehee would have been sent on that.
  3. Try a Sidecar. It has Brandy in it which wasn't on your list, but its a strong drink that when made correctly doesn't "taste" strong. It's a classic. Can't go wrong with it in my opinion.
  4. What the heck was that? Did Gamel hesitate going to second? Seems like he should have made it easily unless he is Casey slow.
  5. Gamel! That's the only reason I am still watching this joke of a game.
  6. The replay looked like they may have got him. He didn't. He got his hand in around McGehee's leg that was blocking the base. It was a lazy tag.
  7. Same thing I saw too. Seriously I've been a supporter of him, but he isn't doing anything to justify his existence on the roster much less starting every day and playing in the 5 hole.
  8. Perhaps it's just a reflection of the relative quality of the teams.
  9. This team is just pathetic against the AL East. Its a joke. They seem determined to beat themselves.
  10. Morgan slipped when he planted. He went back on the ball and as he turned around and planted his feet gave out from under him. He didn't misjudge it.
  11. amazing that ZG only had 26 pitches since he had to basically get 6 outs in the first inning
  12. idiot. It is freaking Posada running down the line. I dont want to see any more of that guy on the field. Bring up Green and be done with it. Ugh!
  13. Wow. Casey I am sorry, but RRR needs to move you down in the lineup. Just ridiculous that he is still hitting 5th and OPSing under .600
  14. Going to put in a personal plug for the Hi Hat on MKE's east side. My bro is the bar manager and has redone the drink menu a while back and it is freakin' awesome. Lots of focus on classic cocktails and new twists using old school techniques. Go on a Mon, Thur or Fri and ask for Dan. I think those are his nights that he works these days. Try and go in when its not as busy (earlier) and sit at the bar. Other than that I love me an Old Fashioned first and foremost followed by a Brandy Manhattan or a Sidecar on the rocks. Completely agree that a focus on fresh juices and handcrafted drinks makes a huge difference. I am such a cocktail snob after working at a bar. My own personal and theavrock signature cocktails are as follows. The Sex Pour over ice 2 shots Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka 1 shot Pom liqueur Press (top with seltzer and sprite) Perfect for Summer. This was my go to for a long time. Bloody Cow 2 shots 3 olives chocolate vodka 1 shot Godiva chocolate liqueur 1 shot Chambord a few squeezes of chocolate syrup stir together and pour over ice. Top with Milk (preferably whole) and shake then pour back over ice. Basically an adult chocolate milk that will sneak up on you if you're not careful. Not nearly as awesome as my bro's creations as i wasn't trained in the art of the craft cocktail, but I love 'em.
  15. Is Green a good/above average defender? Really don't know anything about the guy other than he is tearing up AAA.
  16. I get that Mitre wasn't a world beater, but he has pitched better than a lot of the guys in the bullpen. Either way, very happy to see Gamel get called up. He better be DH'ing or giving Prince a breather 4 or 5 games. Really don't need to see him riding the pine as a pinch hitter.
  17. Its actually chosen by the player vote. At least thats what was said a week or so ago during a broadcast. The article linked by pretendastronaut states "All-Star Game rules stipulate that if a player voted to start by the fans is too injured to play, then the player other than him that leads the Player Ballot gets the nod. But fans have a chance to take out that part of the equation if Fielder or Votto jump Pujols."
  18. Marcum. He's been the best starter thus far. Grienke would be close behind, but right now it would be Marcum.
  19. I agree with a lot of this. I normally don't feel that managers affect their teams that much, but I think RRR is doing his best to make me rethink that. I feel like his bullpen management has been absolutely awful and lacking of any explanation and has contributed to a few losses this season already.
  20. I know everyone hates on the Red Sox, but they are my AL team. I feel like they get the evil empire treatment because ESPN loves them and they have a rivalry with the Yankees. Granted they sign a lot of big name free agents, but a lot of their impact players are home grown (Pedroia, Ellsbury, Lester, Youkilis etc) and the homegrown thing is really overblown. The Brewers who everyone would call a "homegrown" team has 5 of 8 position players and 2 of 5 starters who came up through their minor league system. To me the Red Sox have always seemed like a blue collar team in a blue collar city. I just have always had something for them for whatever reason and then I was in Boston in '03 when they won the WS and it really sealed it for me. That being said the reason I want so bad for a WS for the Brewers is because I have seen the insanity of it in Boston and loved that feeling. The Crew will always be far and away my team.
  21. except that the Reds picked up a few games because they actually had a good week. I don't care what anyone says about all this "well we are still in first stuff." I'm fine with 1-2 against the Red Sox, but with our pen having to pick up 14 innings over three games and that we should have one 3 against the Cubs is a real kick to the pants. This should have been a time where we expanded our lead, not barely held on.
  22. Nieves sucked on defense too. He only had a defensive specialist rep because he couldnt hit. At least George can bat. 1 of 2 is better than 0 of 2. George can't hit either. Yea he's real bad.
