    I wasn't to fond of the Braun deal at the time. I don't hate it either but I am not really fond of it.

    Not necessarily a good thing. It dropped our pick in next year's draft several places.

    Two things I would require of all new stadiums. A roof of some sort and an outfield where the fans cannot reach into play and interfere with balls in play.

    Ugh, I am having Gomes flashbacks. "Managers don't usually walk the winning run." That's right they don't because it is stupid to do so.

    I may have overstated it a bit but we needed more than just a couple players to play over their norms with almost nothing else going wrong to get to the high 80's and make a push. Of course we could have made the playoffs if things went our way. That is true for almost any team.

    I had Oso's Picnic Ants tonight. Not to bad but had sort of a sweet finish. Not going to buy it again. I think there was a fovorable review over at Madison Beer Review and I have been looking out for it. Very dissapointed. Serves me right for trusting one or two guys for a beer opinion. I see it is a C over at BA and it had a 4.5 at Pintley until I voted and brought it down to a 3.7. Sorry I don't contribute more to this thread but my focus has shifted to homebrew. A truly addictive hobby.

    I was in the low 90's. There were several I could picture but couldn't remember their names like Spivey, Moehler and a few others. I completely missed Shiffield, Cirillo, Seitzer and the guys around those years. I had complete lineups for the last few years(other than TGJ, duh) and a big black hole from '95-'98. Would have been '94-'99 but I remembered Cal Eldred. I admit there were a few years I only gave the Brewers a token following. Almost completely stopped following them after high school until the 2004 season. They were not on TV regularly until I got cable and I didn't buy newspapers.

    The only one being McGehee who was a scrap heap guy. I just want to add that I would give Melvin the next 2 years to see how the minor league pitchers develop to evaluate him. There was a big shift in drafting philosophy a few years back and we have yet to see how that will turn out. Just another rehashed argument by me from earlier in the year. I know some disagree.

    That is a huge strawman argument against Weeks. Nobody used RBI's to in their argument for Weeks and I will go out on a limb and say that nobody would. You are one of a handful of people who actually uses RBI's for player evaluation and now you are arguing that they are attributable to somebody else because it doesn't fit your argument? Funny stuff.

    All I will say is that most trades can be argued either good or bad. This was gone over quite extensively earlier this year.

    At the beginning of the season many thought that this team could be a playoff contender if some things broke the right way and we added a couple of key role players. What is this based off of? I would say only a handful of people actually thought the Brewers could be a playoff team at the start of the season. Most thought we were a low 80 or high 70 win team.

    I would hope Gomez is in AAA next year or on another team. I don't want to see him playing for the Brewers again without proving he has changed his approach. A good month of winter ball will prove nothing. My fear is that he will have a decent spring training and somehow end up as our starting CF.

    Weeks has always had a decent or very good OBP every year.

    I don't think Dunn and Pujols are good comparisons. Braun is much more athlectic than they are. Braun would just take his -10.5 UZR/150 to 1B with him.

    I love it when crooks get busted for doing stupid stuff. Like stealing an X-box and using Xbox live. They can track that.

    Boras didn't negotiate that contract if I am not mistaken. I thought I remember A-Rod negotiating directy with the Yankees because Boras wasn't getting anything done.

    At a lower level. Escobar age 22 at that same level last year .353/.409/.762. Luis Cruz age 26 this year .309/.414/.723. I am not a fan of Escobar but he is much better than Cruz. I have no idea why he was named an all-star. All the good SS must have been promoted to the majors. Edit: Gomez would have to pass through waivers to be sent to the minors. We also cannot remove him from the 40-man roster without his consent. He could request to be released right away or at the end of the season.

    Cruz had a .309 OBP. In what league is that a good year? That was one of his best OBP's at any level of the minors for his career.

    I don't see Denver going to a different conference without CC.

    If this was the first time I am sure people would let it slide. This is unfortunately a weekly if not daily occurrence. Witrado may have played baseball but he seems to know little about the terminology.

    If Luis Cruz is in our organization anywhere above the AAA level, I will be severely disappointed. I would be disappointed to see him at all except we have almost nobody else to play SS in the minors for us.

    or Champman succeeded despite his arm not being treated well. We don't know at what rate others pitchers in his situation had arm problems.
