All they do is alienate a possible suitor if that's their plan. How do they alienate anybody except the Brewers. All they say to the next team is they were trying to get more money and thought the Brewers might give them close to what they want.
-
Why focus on Hawkins and his relatively small contract. Hoffman is getting the same money only over one year instead of 2. No I don't think Hoffman is done or bad, I just think they jumped on that contract to fast and overpaid.

Looks like Eric Cartman. -
Edmonds vs RHP is a pretty obvious option but only if you have a RF platoon.
-
We could be pretty depleted next year. UW seniorsAaron Bendickson Andy Bombach Michael Davies Blake Geoffrion Ben Grotting Jon Mitchell Ben Street

The novelty of being outdoors for a ball game again The novelty would have worn out for me about 10 minutes into the rain.
-
I think Fielder has to be resolved first I don't. That could drag on until some time into next year. That is if Boras and Fielder are even serious about an extension.
-
I think Fielder was playing almost even with the bag. I am not sure where he plays normally but if he is playing back, I think he has that ball.
-
I agree, this is a pretty solid pitching staff that has had bad results for most of the year so far. Other than letting Macha put Suppan in the rotation, I like the pitching staff(ignoring how much we paid Hoffman, I thought we jumped on that contract way to early).
-
There, I fixed it for you.
-
Probably not but teams always insist on a "baseball guy" when they are hiring. Then there is the whole baseball dogma thing to overcome. Nice to see we spent $7M on our closer and the Nats got one for $3.5M.
-
Got to save 'em for the 11th Do you have ESP or something. That is the 2nd time I have come across a post in this thread you responded to before it was posted.
-
Guzman is a switch hitter.oops missed that. turned my head away and the AB was over. I assumed Macha had a good reason for pulling Parra. I should know better than to assume something like that.
-
Macha had the infield pulled in didn't he. Cookie cutter. and wow Zaun has looked bad throwing to 2B the last week. Only a month to go before we gain a year of service time on Salome(or there about).
-
I kind of understood taking Parra out for Vargas to get a RHP vs RHB matchup. I disagreed with the call but could undertsnd the argument. Pulling a pitcher after one pitch without his spot coming up to bat seems dumb.
-
duh its an 8th inning lead, Hawkins has to pitchOh that's right. I forgot Yost has a designated 8th inning guy or was it Macha. Tough to tell the last few days.
-
So Vargas wasn't sent back out because?
-
I would call that bad baserunning but I feel that would be an understatement.
-
and the infield is in. Proving once again how cookie cutter dumb MLB managers are.
-
Bringing Vargas in may have been the best move. May have been. This isn't a bad spot to bunt. Late and close. I still would tell him to swing away. Has Gomez gone one game without trying to bunt yet?
-
Looks like Parra is our new LOOGY. I can't even go into how stupid that is.
-
Build it and they will come.. or not. I honestly have little or no interest in the NHL. Part of that may be the difficulty in finding games on tv to watch. No local team doesn't help either.
-
I think I counted to May 6th as the date when Gomez has 3 years service time in. Fielder is a slow starter. Has been for years now. This start shouldn't come as a surprise at all.
-
Yup, real easy being a Weeks fan right now and a Hart fan.
-
Maybe we could take Pat Listach home as the new Brewers manager.
