  1. Certainly seems that way.
  2. Doesn't matter the pitcher's age. They all are high injury risks. With pitchers over 30 you have their declining skills in addition to the injury risk. A position player when injured can still be reasonably helpful. When a pitcher is injured, even a minor injury, their production is more likely to be affected negatively.
  3. One guy doesn't make an outfield the worst in baseball. If Hart can't even play average defense in RF, there is no reason to expect him to be anything except bad in CF. His good play in CF was several years ago when he could play adequate in RF.
  4. His numbers at the MLB level were still about average for a MLB 3B even in his "down" year.
  5. Surprising this wasn't brought up already. They are changing the umpires for the World Series. Sort of. They apparently have a guy without World Series experience work every year. This time they are going with all guy with experience. Actually seems pretty stupid to me except for leaving CB Bucknor out. Link
  6. That said, I'd move Gamel to left, Braun to right, and Hart to center if Cameron is to depart. That would probably give us one of the worst if not the worst outfield defense in the majors. Braun is a bad defender and isn't likely to be better in the other corner. Hart is a poor corner outfielder, there is no way he would be a good CF. Gamel having never played in the outfield isn't likely to be anything except below average. At least we have a good defender in CF to cover for the other guys a bit.
  7. There is no tension in a game between 2 teams when you have no emotional investment. An extra inning game when you have no emotional investment is just killing time.
  8. Not much of a story in Borderlands. I am about 8+ hours in with a level 21 hunter. Feels a lot like WoW. You take quests from people or postings. All the quests have a certain level that is recommended. Quests are labeled as Trivial, Normal or Hard at the bottom of the quest depending on your level it will change. I think you get fewer rewards for lower quests. There are also skill trees for each character which can be respected for a price. Every review I read says it is more fun with more people. There don't seem to be any moral choices yet.
  9. I was actually hoping for a Yankees win. Now the postseason is extended by a few more days.
  10. i understand weeks had some success batting leadoff this past year but his career OBP is still nothing great and he has a tendency to strike out. Wrong. Weeks career OBP is better than anybody on our team not named Fielder or Braun. A .351 OBP is pretty decent. I think you are focusing on the wrong things in regards to Weeks. Leadoff is where a hit vs a HBP vs a BB means less than any other spot in the lineup. does anyone know if reyes spent time in the lower half of the lineup with the Mets when he was just brought up Doesn't matter. Just because another organization made a mistake where they batted a player doesn't mean we should. Regardless of where Escobar has been batting throughout his career, he is likely the worst hitter our team other than the pitcher or catcher. Add in the fact that our manager will negate one of Escobar's biggest attributes and it makes little sense to bat him anywhere higher than 7.
  11. It is going to be really tough to find a catcher better than Kendall. Maybe a strong defensive catcher. Most of the options other than Kendall at catcher are really no more than a minimal upgrade at best. If Kendall would come back at a reasonable price, we probably can't do much worse.(Oops, I mean better.)
  12. They're also willing to defer to each other. The home plate umpire asks the base umps for help on check swings. Most umpires are willing to defer to the base umpires. There are some who would rather just call it themselves. It is one of my biggest pet peeves with certain umpires. They are usually the confrontational type or they seem that way since not checking with base umps usually aggravates players and coaches.
  13. I agree that the wrong call on Swisher leaving to early is a tough call to make. There is almost no way to keep the fielder and runner both in your sight. It still seems like something that is very easily fixed with instant replay.
  14. A-Rod only has good games in the playoffs when the games are blowouts. So not clutch.
  15. Does the guy have a mullet? I have a hard time trusting a guy with a mullet. I hope he doesn't tinker to much with our guys. I would hate to see our minor league guys pushed back a year in their development because of significant changes. My bold prediction is that Bush and Parra pitch closer to expectations(mid 4's for Bush, low 4 for Parra), Melvin picks up a few pitchers improving our depth and Suppan still is a really bad pitcher as expected and Peterson gets showered with undeserved credit for turning around our "horrible" pitching staff.
  16. The best thing to happen in my pinion is for the playoffs to get over as quickly as possible so that the real off season can start.
  17. Try StoneFire Pizza Company. Link It's buffet and has a lot of games and stuff like Chuck E Cheese. A little more upscale though. When I was there they were showing a Disney Movie in one of the rooms. They also have a room where they show the baseball game I believe. 5320 S. Moorland Rd. New Berlin, WI
  18. I haven't been watching the post season much. Both times I turn a game on I see a bad call within minutes. First Saturday and now again today.
  19. We sucked, but now we are fired up so we will be good. Awesome to hear after such a gritty at bat.
  20. Yup, I have to vote McClelland. It really should be unanimous after that call. I would LOVE to hear an explanation for that.
  21. That right there folks is the absolute worst call I have ever seen.
  22. I have to agree. I have never been around a group of women at work or any place else that you couldn't get them to turn on each other. My theory is that anything more than 2 women and they will not get along. Two will gang up on the third.
  23. That's what I was thinking. That one time I met that guy he was a jerk. He must be a jerk all the time.
