  1. I think I would have rather had Soriano hit a grand slam than have to watch 2 straight walks to score runs.
  2. Good chance Sullivan wrote the article and ESPN is charging you to tell you Sullivan wrote said article. I remember seeing them do that a few times with JSOnline articles. They would let you read the first part and it is easy to realize they were just JS articles.
  3. The only worry I have about Macha right now is his belief in veterans, mainly Suppan. He hasn't really acted on that except for starting Suppan opening day instead of Gallardo. Not a big deal in my mind. As long as he doesn't start skipping Bush in favor of Suppan. I don't really like Hart and Hardy switched like they are. Only because I think Hardy will carry a better OBP. Hart may have improved and be a better OBP guy than Hardy now though. Not a big deal either. Lineups are not something that are going to bother me to much though. As long as he is keeping the best guys in the lineup day to day. The comment about needing to steal bases at a 75+% rate was a mark in his favor.
  4. I'm trying to bring more attention to the "main site", as I think it's just become a shell for the forums, and this might be an interesting way to see if user-generated content like this would be viable. Probably true. I have my bookmark take me directly to the forums. Is there really anything on the main page to read often enough to make it worth going to? I count like 16 things on the main page all of last year. Nothing between March and October except a draft preview which was probably talked about more in depth in the minor league forum.
  5. We will get to see our Brewers again once the Bucks move. Hopefully that is sooner rather than later.
  6. That's the one. Thank you.
  7. He was a hack out there in left today. Soriano helped us into the postseason last year with his outfield play. He allowed a ground rule double in the Friday game we won.
  8. I think I scared my kids with all the excited screaming. They definitely looked at me like I was a little crazed.
  9. I am pretty happy with the result of this game. Weeks has been my favorite Brewer for a while. It is nice to see him have a good game.
  10. Soraino is my favorite outfielder ever right this second. First the really bad misplays in the last weekend of the season last year now this.
  11. Where was it that you could buy MLB baseballs to be signed. I know there was a good site, but I just can't find it in the thread.
  12. Those are pretty sweet. How hard was it to get signatures?
  13. I think he did the right thing pitching to Hill. I think McClung didn't execute well. I hate IBB.
  14. Logan, wouldn't you expect to see a better walk to K ratio from guys you don't consider free swingers? I don't think K's should really be taken into account when talking about free swingers. As ennder pointed out in a different thread a month or so back, most would consider Johnny Estrada a free swinger and he rarely struck out. So a free swinger to me boils down to looking at walk rates and BA/OBP splits. I guess looking at P/PA would be another way as well. In that case Kendall was around Braun and Hart last year so he could be considered a free swinger as well and Hall wouldn't.
  15. Hall looks much better to teams if they think he can play SS. I think he can still play SS. We will have to see how he does this year at the plate to find out what kind of hitter he is. I think the last 2 years are more what he is as a hitter, but I hope I am wrong. Of course if either Weeks or Hall play to their best years, we will not want to trade either. If they don't, we won't be able to trade them for anything.
  16. My advice would be to pursue the full time job. You really don't have to tell your boss about the other job until you have secured another job. As long as you give at least 2 weeks notice he shouldn't have a problem. If he does, well then frankly the guy is a total piece of crap and probably wouldn't give a good reference either way. I am always upset when a good employee leaves, but as long as they give enough notice, we would bring them back.
  17. I realize we're a team of free swingers I disagree. The only sure free swingers are Hart and Braun. Cameron, Fielder, Hardy, and Weeks all walk at a pretty good rate. Hall and Kendall I could go either way on, but I still don' think they are free swingers.
  18. Despite McClung's good run at the end of last year, given his track record should he really be pitching in a one run game? In my opinion, no. This is where we will miss Villanueva the most. As the multi-inning bridge in close games. I hate Villanueva in a one inning role whether it is setup or closing. I completely understand not wanting to pitch in a middle relief role because the money sucks.
  19. MLB Gameday has some new bells and whistles. Hot and cold zones for every hitter. Some circular gauge for pitchers. Average velocity for [pitchers.
  20. Macha himself said that he had Suppan start because of the pressure it would put on Yo and Parra. It is all well and good that Macha said he wanted to come in without expectations of our players, but this is one case where I think it would have been very beneficial to look at the history and realize that Suppan is our worst pitcher and Yo can handle pressure just fine. If Suppan ends up getting more starts that Yo, Parra or even Bush --- that puts us at a distinct disadvantage. I agree on Bush. There is some sense to skipping a start or two of Parra and Gallardo to keep their innings down.
  21. Braun and Fielder hit more singles per AB than Cameron, Hall, and Kendall, and way more than the pitchers. They also hit way more extra base hits. OBP should be the deciding factor, not speed. Speed shouldn't be taken into consideration until after you have your top of the lineup decided. AB/single Fielder 6.125 Braun 6.71 Cameron 7.93 Hall 7.622 Kendall 5.55
  22. Interested in the Becket with Weeks on the cover. This is awesome every year you do this Pedro.
  23. I think that Hardy will have a higher OBP, but Hart is a much better base runner. I think those are the reasons to switch them back, not because they are struggling. I think speed is much more important in the bottom of the lineup where you have singles hitters and the pitcher, where you are more likely to play small ball(ugh).
