  1. There does seem to be a little something different this year with ned, and as someone pointed out earlier, it may be the 'simmons effect'. I said before the season that if Yost made improvements this year it would be attributed to Simmons by some people. I wish I had been wrong.
  2. I didn't agree with his move, as I stated. I was just trying to point out that he did explain himself in this one instance. I probably should have been more clear about that. I also thought the other manager made an equally dumb move by IBBing Braun to set up the double play. Sorry, off topic.
  3. I don't understand why we would want to move a guy from SS to 2B if his biggest weakness is range, not his throwing arm. Especially when he would be on the same side of the infield as Fielder.
  4. If you are refering to the game we won with a Fielder walkoff, Ned said he was bunting to stay out of the double play with JJ. I don't agree with his choice, but it is one of the few times playing for one run may be a good idea.
  5. Yost explained that he only goes to high pitch counts when a guy has an extra day of rest before or after a start. I don't agree with Yost in this case.
  6. The approach with our minor leagues seem a lot like high school sports to me. You have a player or two that are further advanced than the rest and play for varsity right away, but for the most part everybody plays together for a couple years until they are all playing together their senior year on varsity. I think it helps team cohesion. Not that it necessarily helps them play better, but they get along.
  7. I thought Zambrano was pulled early with the game still in doubt last year so he could make another start on short rest in the series.
  8. I think it would be better to do it now instead of in September because then he can be worked back up to startng by the middle of September instead of trying to work him back up to starting in the middle of the playoffs.
  9. I remember Lee saying he would like to stay, but it wasn't his choice, which by the way I think is a total crap line. Just admit that you are going to whoever pays you the most instead of saying it isn't your choice.
  10. Many people hate defined roles in the bullpen.. The problem is that the it isn't a Ned Yost thing. It is a MLB manager thing.
  11. Did you get atracking number from UPS? My launch Xbox (waited in line for 12 hours) lastest over 2 years with no problems when I sold it on eBay to upgrade to one with the Falcon chip and an HDMI port. I refuse to believe that so many Xbox's have produced the RROD. I wonder what the exact percentage of failures is? The friend that I waited in line with at launch still has his working launch Xbox. I don't know the exact percentage, but I know that my Xbox died and my brother in law's died twice.
  12. Umpiring crew K gets my vote as the crew of death.
  13. I would give him a C+ if he had stuck with the pitcher batting 8th since it is a slightly better strategy. I am however going to give him a C since he is not doing anything that seperates him from an average manager.
  14. Bush last year was our best starter at giving the bullpen rest(other than Sheets) by going 6+ innings. Better than "inning eater" Suppan.
  15. By 2011 Jeffress should be worked up to 200+ innings before he is in the MLB rotation.
  16. I always traded for CC Sabathia in MVP '05.
  17. I admit I really didn't add anything to those threads. I really got burned out reading through them trying to find scraps of useful information. Lesson learned, I hope.
  18. That is always a criticism of Jack Z, pitching in general. Overall he has done a really good job with drafts, but specifically pitching has been bad.
  19. I stick by what I said before, I think we should keep Melvin. Looking at him, I think he has a really cool mustache. If he ever shaves it, then he has to go.
  20. My wife and I went to pick out her engagement ring together, so I guess I was way at the other end of the traditional spectrum.
  21. I don't feel like the Brewers are going to make the playoffs either. I do however rationaly think they have a very good shot at making the playoffs and I hope they make the playoffs. Its tough when how you feel and what you rationally know are in conflict.
  22. I am thinking a minute or two since they probably stopped to look up what JJ stands for.
  23. I am going to the game on the 10th, but I wasn't planning on tailgating. Just having a couple beers with my wife before the game.
  24. Are you also rooting for an injury to Sheets and CC so we can sign both of them next year?
  25. So what's their excuse for taking several weeks to get 3TO shirts?
