  1. I don't know if it is an advantage, but when the Cubs and Cards play each other we gain a game on one of them as long as we win.
  2. With a release date that far away, there is still a chance it could get pushed back. Until there is a firm date, I wouldn't count on a game getting released. The only games you can usually count on getting released on time are yearly updates like Madden, 2K baseball games and such.
  3. We can go around all day about who is better on defense. You have your opinion, I have mine. We do have enough PA to look at splits and determine that Branyan is a better choice against RHP and Hall is better against LHP. That isn't man love, that's objective.
  4. Spring 2009. I usually go to this site on a daily basis. http://www.1up.com/
  5. Fable 2 has a coop mode, but you have to be careful the person you play with doesn't kill your in game spouse.
  6. The futures game will be rebroadcast on ESPN 2 at 6:00 pm central time, July 16th.
  7. They started an in game thread for this game. It is also getting rebroadcast on July 16th at 6:00 pm central time, ESPN2.
  8. If I can just pick and choose which plays to pay attention to and which to ignore then we have a gold glover at 1B and 2B as well.
  9. Hall is playing the same kind of infield defense he has for his whole career. He makes some spectacular plays, but messes up easy ones. He is not a good fundamental player. Hall is just a good athlete playing baseball, not a baseball player who is a good athlete. Like I said before the season, we went from historically bad defense to bad defense.
  10. Most players make outs in 60% of their plate appearances. All outs are basically the same. An out is an out. He still has better career splits against RHP than Hall. Like I said earlier this year, Hall i still below average at defense. Besides for his career 6% of the time he hits home runs all the time.
  11. Neither Mota or Gagne contributed to the loss. They did however pitch poorly yet again and contribute nothing to this team.
  12. Way to keep your head on a swivel.
  13. I don't think we could have purposely scripted a worse year for Gagne or Mota. Our bullpen has been a huge disappointment almost across the board.
  14. I think you have been watching a different Bill Hall than I have all year.
  15. Here is a good link I found in the off season. I hope that THT does something similar this offseason again. It is interesting that much of the time when the umpires are inconsistent they show up somewhere in the lists.
  16. I have to say that I am looking forward to this fall's lineup of video games. There is almost one a month for about 4 months straight. Too Human - hack and slash with RPG stuff(Xbox360 only) Fable 2 - RPG with hack and slash fighting(Xbox360 only) Gears of War 2 - 3rd person shooter(Xbox360 only) Star Wars the Force Unleashed - hack and slash with RPG elements(PS3, Xbox360, Wii, DS, PS2, PSP, wireless) Lord of the Rings : Conquest - Battlefront for LOTR(Xbox360, DS, PS3, PC) I will also probably look into Halo Wars, but only if the rest of the games get boring. I just found out about the Lord of the Rings game. Usually I steer clear of LOTR games even though I like LOTR. This one is supposed to be made by the same people who made the Battlefront games. The Battlefront games were some of the most fun games I have ever played.
  17. He forgot to do the elbow thing Braun always does.
  18. I don't understand what is respectful about asking somebody permission if you are going to do something anyway.

  20. 4 saves of more than one inning. 5 appearances of more than one inning. None longer than 4 outs. This in 66 appearances. He looks like a one inning pitcher to me.
  21. True, he hasn't typically brought in his closer for more than 4 outs very often, but we are talking about a different type of reliever in this case. CoCo was a one inning reliever. Torres is a multi inning reliever. Yost is managing to his player's strengths this year. I am not sure he didn't last year though.
  22. I wish the TV broadcast was coming in for me.
  23. I agree that the managing appears better, but I am still trying to decide whether it is because of having a better pen or better use of the players at Yost's disposal. I am leaning towards better relief pitchers and our starters covering more innings which limits the number of middle innings that have to be covered by lesser pitchers. More pitchers in the pen that can cover multiple innings vs one and done relievers. Good relievers covering more innings vs a good reliever covering one inning then having to be pulled for a lesser reliever because they can't go more than an inning.
  24. How much better is Parra than Bush, Suppan or McClung? I think the difference is pretty small. Especially when we are talking about 5 starts at most.
  25. Bill Hall. If not for Hall(and Fielder) being sub par defenders, I might have been watching a complete game shutout yesterday. Minor quibble really. I am more upset that the inning I chose to get up and buy food and drink turned out to be their 6 run inning. People who can't stay in their seats until the middle or end of an inning(or at the very least a pitching or batter change). I had at least 3 people get up from their seats and walk in front of me in the middle of a pitch. That doesn't even include the times people got up during an at bat. It's not like I was in the back or even middle of a section. I was in the third row, so there were very few people who could actually get up and block my view. That doesn't even include the kid who walked through our row to get to his seats which were in the next section over, the opposite way(yeah he came back a couple rows up). Either walk your kids to the bathroom or make sure they know where they are going.
