  1. If I did believe in clutch I would say Counsell or Hall. Since I do not believe in clutch I will go with Fielder.

  4. I think it should have been Good Guys/guys almost everybody cheers for, Bubble Guys/guys that we want to succeed but are split on wether or not they will, and Wes Helms. I think people are split on Hall personally. I think after 2006 there was a lot of love for Hall. Since then there has been a level of backlash againt that love for Hall that has evened things out. I would also have put Weeks on the bubble. I think people are split about him mostly because he has yet to live up to his potential, but has put up fairly decent numbers.
  5. I think Parra ends up as #1 or #2 in our rotation unless we pick up another pitcher somewhere or miraculously keep Sheets after this year. Vargas is terrible and I would pay somebody to take McClung to keep him out of our rotation. I was all for trading Vargas all off season and I am now glad we didn't. I don't want him in the rotation unless we absolutely have to.
  6. The thing is that Bill wasn't just throwing those numbers out there. He was reporting it as told to him by Ted Simmons. Untill some other information comes out, I am sorry, but I am going to go with that information over your assumption. Again I am not saying that you are wrong, just that I am going to go with the information from Simmons first. The names mentioned as comparables were Benji Molina and Pudge. They may just being generous. It woldn't be the first time.
  7. In Lego Star Wars, I like shooting C3PO until he is hopping around on one leg. I know it is childish and stupid, but it makes me chuckle.
  8. I am not even sure if they will do anyting about the championship unless the player was still on the team and playing. Kind of sucks that a team makes it to the championship after they had that kind of infraction during the season.
  9. Well it looks like the Badgers got 2nd place this year. However the team that won had an ineligible player, allegedly, on their team for much of the year. What are the odds that the women's team gets the title be forfeit? I think it isn't likely, but there will be some kind of action taken against UMD. http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/column/baggot/277490
  10. There is no way that ever happens. The NL won't win the all star game so the Rays will be the home team.
  11. I am guessing he means closest to the majors. The other guys haven't even been to AAA yet, unless I am mistaken.
  12. Kind of what I thought. I think they did something like that with Kolb a few years back. I don't think Villy makes it. Honestly I think he is better than McClung, but he will pitch more in the minors. I would rather have him pitching on a regular scheule for when a starter goes down(yes I said when) than once every two weeks.
  13. I really liked Battlefront because it was like being in a huge battle. Unlike most shooters where you are one against many, you were one of many playing against the other army. I never played it on multiplayer, but the problems described sound like problems with most online gaming. I think a Battlefront where you can get up to 8 of your friends together to battle another army would be awesome. The only problem was that it is a little easy.
  14. I think we might see him again, just not as a starter. I think we can cut his salary by more than 20%, but we have to nontender him after the season or something like that. The 20% if I am not mistaken is the most you can cut a player's salary by if you offer arbitration. If his salary is $3.8M then we could offer him just over $3M by cutting his salary by 20%. That isn't to unreasonable for a reliever.
  15. That's because nontendering him would have been a bad idea. Just because he got hurt doesn't mean nontendering him would ahve been a good idea. You can't predict an injury like this. The better idea was to try and keep as much pitcher depth as possible.
  16. Wouldn't he need an extra year after the 11 months to build arm strength back up so he is all the way back?
  17. I do actually. I see most free agent contracts as foolish so I have no problem with other teams wasting money on the open market. Why I don't like to see this type of contract given to a young player like this is that now our own young players will expect the same. This contract, unfortunately, makes sense. It also drives up the price of our young players. Signing Fielder seemed pretty tough before, now it looks impossible. The money per year wouldn't worry me to much in a 4 year or shorter chunk. The 8 years does. Of course Fielder would probably have asked for 6+ years anyway.
  18. It sounds like a mound makes the stride longer and I would guess makes the duration of the stress on the joints longer for each throw.
  19. Maybe. I went back and it was the game from 3/16. In the bottom of the third inning Bill said he was talking to Simmons earlier in the week and Simmons said Rottino was around 1.9-1.85. MLB catchers are around 2 on average and Benji Molina and Pudge are around the 1.85 range according to Bill. Unfortunately this is the only information I have to go off of.
  20. None of the outcomes involve fielders.
  21. I have been thinking about it for a while and I would rank the Star Wars games as follows 1. Battlefront - I love these games. I can't wait for the next one. 2. KOTOR - Best stories of all the Star Wars games. Really add to the depth of the franchise. 3. Lego Star Wars - Fun. That is all.
  22. I am sure if they wanted to they could hook him up to IVs to restore his fluids.
  23. I think it is more a question of how much of their own money the Brewer's ownership wants to spend and how soon we can get a better TV contract. That is the big question. If they decide to be fiscally responsible, allegedly, it becomes a question of wether or not it is a good idea to sign Fielder when there is a good chance we can sign 2-3 players for the same amount of money. No matter what we spend on Fielder I hope that they don't sign him for more than 4 years plus a 5th option year.
