  1. If I was going to insult you I would have been much more direct. I was talking about what each manager's moves did to the odds of scoring one run verses no runs. I was not making any judgement on which was better.
  2. I get the feeling you didn't read the link.
  3. The problem is that sac bunting is almost always a bad idea. It decreases your overall chances of scoring runs while increasing your chances of scoring one run.(Russ's post has a link to a nice chart, see link to thread below) Of course the IBB to Fielder almost gives back the entire advantage of a scoreless inning that the Cubs gained. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=10845
  4. I would have guessed low and inside off speed.
  5. He gets caught stealing in over half of his attempts over the last couple years. I don't know what happened between 2005 and 2006, but he shouldn't even be thinking about getting a big lead or stealing bases. The most positive thing to say about his baserunning is that he only attempted 9 SB last year.
  6. I think Bill Hall isn't as good as he thinks he is. He thinks he is fast and can steal bases. He is wrong. He is a terrible base stealer. He thinks his arm is strong enough to throw out anybody. He is wrong and in some cases should eat the ball instead of throwing it.
  7. To be perfectly honest I am a little more worried that JJ is currently playing through an injury than I am about either closer. Gagne should have been mixing in some off speed stuff a little earlier, but I am not privy to their scouting reports on the Cubs batters. I think the odds of either giving up 3 runs is pretty small especially on the same day. I had a few more questions, but I forgot what they were other than 3. Does anybody still think Gallardo has better stuff than Sheets? 4. Is Bill Hall the worst baserunner on our team?
  8. 1. Who's closer will recover and last the season? Cubs/Brewers 2. What's wrong with JJ's left shoulder? He grabbed it a few weeks ago after a HR in spring training. It looked like it was really uncomfortable yesterday during a few at bats.
  9. If I had to guess I would say that Riske went out in case there was another inning and Turnbow was being saved in case Riske didn't pitch well. Yost probably has more confidence in Turnbow than Riske.
  10. I think Fukudome went down as a caught stealing. Nothing like a base running blunder by the other team to pad your stats. haha
  11. I never thought a .400 OBP would be considered bad.
  12. Without an injury or suspension, I doubt TGJ ever becomes an everyday starter for us. If Cameron plays well for us it would probably be best to pick up his option. If he doesn't then Laporta gets fast tracked. I hope Cameron has his option picked up because I hate rushing prospects like we have been.
  13. I do care what his hits look like. They look the same in the box score, but I am betting that if he continues to hit like he did today that his probability that they keep falling for hits is pretty low.
  14. I am happy with getting one win in this series. Before the start of the series I said I wouldn't be disappointed unless we got swept and I am not changing that now. I will take the under. We haven't been good on the road for years, I doubt it changes now.
  15. Well Sheets has his curve back. All I can say is wow, nasty.
  16. You wouldn't have to hold your breath with Estrada, you would know they were going to the backstop. I was pretty happy with his performance behind the plate today, but it is only one game. He had more pitches in the dirt today than Estrada would have had in a week. Some of that might have been Sheets though. He didn't seem to have his curve working last year, but he sure does this year.
  17. My optimistic geuss is that they're gonna play him for these 25 games to get his stock up, and then trade him when Cameron is done witht the suspension. That being said, I still don't agree with him playing over Gross at all. You can get his stock up playing him in the 7 hole as well. Considering you probably don't want him stealing ahead of Fielder and stealing bases is probably where Gwynn has his most value as an offensive player, it would make much more sense to bat him lower in the lineup. If he bats well it wouldn't make much difference where in the order he bats.
  18. A rain out would really suck. I doubt I get any sleep tonight. It happens anytime I go to a game too. I get up earlier than usual, 2:00 being my usual time to wake up. Add to that being a little excited about tomorrow and I doubt I get more than 2-3 hours sleep tops.
  19. In my time here nobody has really cared about gender, just about opinions.
  20. I am still surprised he wouldn't have tried to go to a different team where he would have had a chance to compete for a MLB spot. I am not sure if he is good enough, but I would think somewhere that doesn't have 5 guys at then MLB level plus at least 1 minor league player ahead of him would have been preferable. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he stayed I would actually prefer him to TGJ, almost.
  21. For selfish reasons I don't want the game canceled. I only took Monday off. Next year I am going to take the whole week off if possible.
  22. I like to watch Brewers games on other stations now and then just to get an outside opinion. Of course watching the WGN guys is pretty tough since they are such homers. Edit: My typing is terrible tonight. Missing lots of letters.
  23. That's not right. You should record it and avoid updates at all costs. You only get one opening day a year. Well maybe 2 if tomorrow is canceled.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. I think the game might actually be on 3 stations. FSN, WGN, and ESPN2, if I am not mistaken.
  25. That should have gone in the bold predections thread.
