  1. I am hoping that Kendall is good with balls in the dirt. I think Estrada was really poor in that aspect and I think it may have caused our pitchers to avoid pitches in the dirt. I think he is going to get run on. Until I see otherwise.
  2. Well I think most people see Suppan this way. We can't trade him if he doesn't pitch well, and we don't want to if he does.
  3. What I took from it is that you sometimes have to do things that are not necessarily the best option just to keep the defense honest.
  4. Pretty interesting article. Basically says that there are no absolutes in baseball. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/these-numbers-are-disconnected/
  5. ERA will tell you results, but it will not tell you how well somebody pitched. I know it sounds like the same thing, but it isn't. Gagne is a good example last year. He had a slightly better K/BB ratio in Boston and people thought he actually pitched better, but had worse results.
  6. Either that or you put everybody except brewers19 on ignore. Might lead to some really confusing threads though.
  7. Starters Sheets, Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Capuano Relievers Gagne, Turnbow, Torres, Villanueva, Riske, Shouse, Mota Apologies to Stetter, Pena, Choate - I don't know anything about you guys. I don't think Suppan would make the cut for me either. I am really turned off when the best that can be said about a pitcher is "innings eater." I sort of look at it as "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all." Except that they have to say something and something positive. They don't call Santana an innings eater. Not that Suppan is anywhere clsoe to that class, but I think if somebody said they thought Suppan was a good pitcher it would be the first time I had heard it.
  8. Just wait till next year when we keep LaPorta in the minors while picking up Cameron's option.
  9. Yes, but he used only BA without OBP. I never said he didn't care about BA. Besides, you are taking something way to seriously that was meant only in jest. Which was a comment more that I have never seen Ennder use only BA in a post. I was not grouping him in with other people as you are suggesting.
  10. Cappy and Bush would have to pass through waivers to go down.
  11. I seem to remember Prince at the top of the steps for something last year. I forget what for exactly, but he had one foot out of the dugout.
  12. I retuned Carlos Lee last year after he made his 3rd diving catch of a line drive to the gap. I promised myself last year that I would never buy another 2K sports game again, but I can feel my resolve weakening.
  13. I think they got Nunez in case of an injury to a middle infielder or 3B. I would guess Counsell ends up playing everyday and Nunez gets called up is either Weeks or Hardy go down.
  14. Probably want to check Carlos Lee. In 2K7 he played gold glove defense because they had his speed jacked way up.
  15. Do you really think that Toronto would want those 2 back so soon?
  16. Here I was thinking that MLB teams catered to message-boarders needs. They need to get on the ball and get the information we need.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Back on topic, I think both make the rotation.
  17. Now I have seen it all. Ennder is looking at BA, not OBP.
  18. If Fielder gained 10 pounds would anybody notice? I mean if he didn't step on a scale.
  19. msn.com Really I don't do much from any given page so it really doesn't matter.
  20. That one probably should have been over at Lambeau Leap then. Edit: I apologize if anybody thinks saying that is overstepping my bounds. There are product endorsements for Xbox, Dell Computers, Lexmark, endless amounts of beers, and tequila, just on the first page of this forum. I think that the difference is that most people talking about those things don't have anything to gain personally from it. At least I hope not.
  21. I guess I would be better off just trying to get updated rosters for my xbox game. Either that or hope and pray for EA to buy out 2K games.
  22. Why would we want to trade them? I really don't see a need.
  23. He did have a .373 OBP last year. He has a .357 OBP for his career. That .357 is better than most of our current players have ever put up in any single year. His OPS was #10 among all 2B. His OBP #8. He had a .385 OBP as a leadoff hitter last year. That ranked #4 among guys with at least 325 PA as a leadoff hitter. Just forget about looking at his BA and you might actually like the guy. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?sort=onBasePct&split=109&league=mlb&season=2007&seasonType=2&type=reg&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&minpa=325&hand=a&pos=all
  24. Where can I find MVP 05 for the pc? Does it play with a controler, where so I get that? How do you get updated rosters?
  25. Here is something I did a while back. Not to terribly useful when figuring out runs over the course of a season as that is very dependant on context, but it gives you some idea of what the difference in production would be between 2 players. For example giving 80 more PA(or moving a guy 4 spots in the lineup) to Hall would mean 16.46 more hits, Hardy/18.5, Cameron/15.26. This is based off of last years numbers. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pKN8HdBGjC9LVeUzB9o8vNg
