  1. I think many people chimed in on their opinions of where everybody should bat in the Brewers lineup in this thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=10982
  2. 2 games is practically nothing. The difference is one HR by A-Ram.
  3. I am surprised you have to pay for incoming text messages with Verizon. Are you sure that is the case?
  4. Gammons was on the Mike and Mike show this morning. He said the Brewers and the Cubs would be fighting it out for the division all year.
  5. I have had US Cellular since they were Cellular One, almost 10 years now. I really like them. I get reception almost everywhere in Wisconsin until north of Wausau. I even was up in Rochester, MN and got a home signal(I had my phone set to home only, my friend got a better signal, but he was roaming). I got a good signal almost down to Missouri and was still not roaming. I don't even have a nationwide plan. I guess you could say I am pretty happy with them.
  6. I think most people thought we would see a lineup of Weeks Cameron Fielder Braun Hart Hardy Hall Kendall Pitcher Keep in mind that I consider Hall, Cameron and Hardy to be pretty equal hitters so they are pretty much interchangeable. Cameron being a better base runner than the other 2 and Hardy striking out less than the other two. From whot Yost has been sayin it sounds like our lineup could end up Weeks Braun Cameron Fielder Hart Hardy Hall Pitcher Kendall The only one who changes more than one spot is Braun. You need .050 points of OBP difference between players to make the 20 extra at bats equal one more base runner over the course of the entire season.
  7. So LaRussa is plannning on batitng his pitchers 8th all year, but it sounds as if he is going to bat Pujols 3rd. I think it is a little odd that he would go out of his way to take the time to look into lineups and decide to bat the pitcher 8th yet overlook batting your best hitter in either the #1, #2, or #4 spots in the lineup. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7844154/La-Russa:-Pitchers-will-bat-eighth-in-spring-training
  8. Don't forget about the belly flops.
  9. For me it comes down to convenience. I usually end up grilling at the park so the grill is the last stop before eating. Also boiling after I would have to grill twice since I usually have to grill hot dogs and/or burgers as well. I want to try boiling last someday though. I have to say that this thread is turning out much better than I hoped. I already have several ideas that I am going to try. For hot dogs I prefer the Klememnts Chicago style dogs. I like them better than the dogs at Miller Park.
  10. I am sure many in the Milwaukee area have heard most of these interviews already, but I figured I would post them anyway. I can't get the BA interview to work. http://www.sportsradio1250.com/pages/300750.php
  11. I don't think Hart will steal 30 bases this year because he will be getting so many extra base hits that there will not be enough opportunities to steal 30.
  12. I am planning on grilling every weekend this year and my repertoire is pretty limited. I was wondering if anybody had any good grill recipes, rubs, sauces, or marinades they would be willing to share. Anything about vegetables on the grill would also be greatly appreciated. I am pretty much limited to Brats - boiled in beer and onions before going on the grill(I have heard boiling after is better) Hamburgers - plain and mixed with dried onion soup Steak - Mmmmm steak
  13. Weeks would have to have a good season first and then a bad one to bounce back. Weeks has yet to have a really good season.
  14. Just my opinion, buty I think PA is what should be looked at not AB. Everything I have read or people have talked about has been 18-20 PA per spot in the order. Especially when you get to the bottom of the order where there are a lot of Sac bunts and intentional/unintentional BB. Take the #1 vs #2 AB on that page. You see, as should be expected with Weeks at the top quite a bit, the #2 spot actually had more AB than the #1 spot.
  15. Make sure you buy a 360 with HDMI and a hard drive. Most should have a HDMI output now which means they are one of the newer units.
  16. His K to BB ratio was better in Boston than in Texas. He just got hit more in Boston.
  17. As long as Hall is not stealing I am fine. Really Hart and Weeks are the only 2 I feel comfortable with stealing right now. Braun was at 75% last year and I see no reason he can't improve on that with a little work.
  18. I bet Dusty is going to love Adam Dunn.
  19. I think so. I am going off of memory and don't have time to check right now. I also could be wrong.
  20. I like how he came in and didn't change anything except payroll. The Brewers were already headed in the right direction and he just enabled Melvin to continue building up the team.
  21. Maybe, Yost seemed to go with both Linebrink and Turnbow later in the year. That might be more to do with neither being very reliable more than anything else though. Though I disagree with the strategy behind set innings for relievers, I think Yost and the players involved like it.
  22. If we are going to get selective like that we can look at 2005-2006 when he hit 9 with a runner on 1B and 9 with RISP. Over his entire career RISP 1 HR/29.73 PA 1B only 1 HR/29.92 PA
  23. We have Braun for 6 more years at least. I can see some benifit in a long term contract to save some money, but I would rather wait and go with no more than 4 years guaranteed at a time with a 5th option year. That is what they have been doing.
  24. Here is a longer article on it. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080223&content_id=2385716&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil Also a link to a spreadsheet showing how much each of our players would lose per plate appearance and per spot in the order. Based off of 18 PA per spot in the order and last years stats. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pKN8HdBGjC9LVeUzB9o8vNg
  25. Nah, hitting is hitting. You try to square the ball and hit it hard. He takes lots of pitches anyway, judging from his pitches/PA, so it isn't like he would have to change his approach much. Add in he is moving to a home park that gives up more HR, and I don't see how he hits fewer.
