  1. When someone sends you a 'Thank You' card, you can turn around and send them a 'You're Welcome' card right back.
  2. Voting in Maple Grove, Wisconsin took less than 5 minutes and I was outnumbered by workers 6 to 1. Gotta love the rural life!
  3. I always liked Bogut, and after seeing that video of him high fiving himself at the free throw line last year put him over the top for me. That was awesome.
  4. Benicio Del Toro I loved him as Frankie Four Fingers in Snatch. and in Traffic.
  5. I guess part of me is just frustrated that it seems at times the only way Bogut can score is if he gets an offensive rebound. Bogut is money with that little left handed hook shot and decent from 12 feet and in. Overall, the Bucks won't set the world on fire, but at least they have a lot more positives going for them than last year. Definitely looking forward to the start of the season.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if Melvin left this offseason after how the Yost firing went down. But whatever managerial and/or front office vacancies the Brewers have, I hope they fill them with people from outside the organization for a change. Promotions are alright for a while, but it seems like every coach on the coaching staff was one brought up from the minor leagues because they coached the current core of the young players in the minors. It's not bad to have a coach the players are comfortable with, but they could stand to hear new voices sometimes, because after you beat the same drum for a period of time, it starts to fall on deaf ears.
  7. Pinch hitting with CC doesn't make much sense to me. Sure the novelty of it is pretty fun, but at the end of the day, he is still a pitcher. There had to have been a better hitting option first off the bench than a pitcher. Starting Suppan was a mistake. At the time of the signing I thought it was good because I can't remember the Brewers actually signing a player who had ever accomplished anything in his career before. But after learning about Suppan and his lack of pitching talent over the years has made me cringe to think that he's under contract for a couple more years and will be given the ball every 5th day because he's a veteran.
  8. During the Brewers On Deck, before their exhibition game, I was in the outfield seats and I was watching McClung and he looked like he was having more fun than anyone out there combined. I just figured it was because he was glad to be on the big league roster rather than the minor league roster, which probably was a contributing factor. But if he also really enjoys being a Brewer, I'm sure that's another reason.
  9. I really couldn't agree more. If Attanasio starts rolling heads on a consistent basis I am going to be disappointed.
  10. This move comes with two weeks left in the season? Really? I guess it really is this year or bust. While yesterday may have been the worst day in franchise history, this still is weird timing to me. I suppose you can't fire the whole team for playing poorly so you fire the person at the top. I think it's not fair to Ned to not let him see this season to the end, but he dug his own grave basically with this month so far.
  11. Bull from Night Court
  12. I was actually standing in that exact area last night and before the game and a little bit into the game and I was taking my sunflower seed shells out of my mouth and throwing them on the ground. I even heard one usher say something to some other fans about sunflower seed spitting and my friend looked at me and laughed cause I was doing it before.
  13. Kiel High School class of 2006. Colors are purple and white. Nickname is the Raiders. The most famous person that I can think of to graduate from Kiel was Tony Gries who walked onto the Marquette basketball team for two years. He did manage to play a minute at the end of the Final Four game that one year. Other than that, I'm pretty sure there were only local legends to graduate from there, like a kid nicknamed Bacon http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Put up a 3 foot fenced in boxed area in shallow center field behind second base just as an obstacle for fielders to run through and around. Put more hills in random spots in the outfield, not just by the wall. Or, build the entire field on a slope with home plate being at the bottom.
  15. We should have a bake sale.
  16. I could care less about the team struggling, I just want to kiss you.
  17. My roommate for a semester last year. He is a big guy, about 6'4", 325, and showered about once a week. He left school after the first semester and I spent the entire second semester trying to rid my room of his body odor. I left windows open, got air fresheners, sprayed Febreeze everywhere, and it couldn't be killed. So basically, I had a funkified room version of the funkified car on Seinfeld. I feel bad for the poor saps who have that room next year.
  18. Duct tape and a generic Brewers T-shirt works well too. The way I see it, rent-a-player, rent-a-jersey.
  19. This whole thread has been money. I will reiterate the warning about Minnesota drivers. Illinois drivers may drive recklessly, but at least they keep moving. Minnesota drivers will sit in the left lane going the speed limit or a little above and not move over. I have followed a Minnesota driver for 15 minutes waiting for it to move over and it never did, so I ended up passing on the right. Also, when leaving a parking lot, like at a Brewer game, the people who don't know proper etiquette in letting people in. It is not difficult. You let someone in, move ahead, the person behind you lets someone in, move ahead, rinse, lather, repeat. I get to the point where I just have to slowly creep ahead because no one will let me in otherwise. Speaking of Brewer traffic, I love the people that don't understand the sign at the intersection of Hwy 18 and Wisconsin Avenue that says "No turn on Red from left lane." Just about every time I go that way, someone will stop in the right lane on a red light and not move.
  20. I currently go to Carroll and second the high school vibe. It's funny to see the football players strut around like they own the place and there are definitely cliques too. And sometimes, I just don't get a warm, friendly feeling from the students walking around. Usually if I pass professors or other adults I get a friendly vibe, but the students are a bit stuck up in my opinion.
  21. That song about riding a bike with no handle bars got stuck in my head the other day and I nearly had to take myself out.
  22. I believe Braun's last hit was the RBI single in the first inning of Saturday's game, or an 0 for 18 stretch if you're scoring at home.
  23. With the defender laying out of bounds, he isn't on the field of play, therefore, he is not the last defender. If the situation were on the offensive end, offensive players are able to step out of bounds to avoid being offsides, so the same rule applies for defenders.
